Sample calculation:

iPhone charger is $20.97 on Amazon (random search).
When buying wholesale in China, it is not even $1, but about $0.5-6.

+ Tariff: 245%

$0.50 × (1 + 2.45) = $0.50 × 3.45 = $1.725

+ Logistics: $1
+ Other taxes: $2

The product enters the US market at $4.73 and is sold for $20.97. $16.24 profit.

Those who want to open a business in the US and sell on Amazon can do it without hesitation. Tariffs are not going to hurt the margins much.

Our services for opening a company and account in the US and setting up a store on Amazon have not stopped. You can contact: +8613040688804, contact@jrandfirm.com

When dealing with Chinese factories, paying close attention to their behavior and communication can help you avoid many potential issues.

Here are some red flags to watch out for:

1. If the factory requests payment before signing a contract – proceed with caution.
2. If the factory’s bank account is located outside China – be careful.
3. If the factory persistently follows up about payment, messaging almost daily – take note.
4. If the factory’s legal documents belong to another country, such as the Cayman Islands or the British Virgin Islands (BVI) – be cautious.
5. If the factory asks for payment to a personal bank account – this is a major red flag.
6. If the factory provides only a Proforma Invoice (PI) instead of a proper contract – be wary.
7. When reviewing a contract from the factory, carefully examine its terms. If anything is unclear, consult a lawyer with experience in Chinese business law.

These warning signs do not necessarily mean that a factory is fraudulent, but they do warrant extra diligence. Always verify details and proceed with caution to protect your business.
