Last week I made a video asking Disney to release the original cut of Star Wars. Over 7,000 of you jumped in to tag ‪@disneyplus‬ and show your support! 🙌 Now, just yesterday, the British Film Institute announced they’ll be screening the original 1977 cut theatrically FOR THE FIRST TIME IN DECADES! ... Is this a coincidence, or did we actually do something? Should I go??

Someone has been impersonating me on Instagram as "@magnaify" and stealing all my content. Instagram won’t take the account down unless I have an official account, so I’ve finally launched my own: @magnifyvideos!

I was thinking beyond reposting Youtube stuff, IG stories will be a great way to share thoughts and discoveries between videos. (like this drone shot I took yesterday at a Celtic Fort from 1400BC 🤯)

If you have Instagram, could you take a minute to help me defeat the scammer by following my official account, @magnifyvideos?

My city of Asheville, NC has been devastated by catastrophic flooding from Hurricane Helene. As you can see, the floodwaters were literally higher than the streetlamps in some areas. The destruction is pretty extreme. While I was able to evacuate the city safely today, the situation remains dire.

100,000 people are still stuck in the city without power, water, or any timeline for recovery. We were without cell service for days, even unable to reach 911. If you swipe to the last photo, you’ll see that large sections of interstate have completely washed away, making it difficult for people to get out, or for supplies to get in. Only one major road out remains open-- to the south, but today the nearest working gas station was 100 miles away, and many people don't have enough gas to reach it.

If you know anyone in or near Asheville or Western North Carolina- please reach out immediately by text. Fortunately, some cell service has been restored to the area, but most. residents still have no internet to find out vital information about food, water, and new evacuation orders.

I plan to share what I’ve learned about infrastructure and crisis communication in some new videos soon, as well as check on the status of our Ironland statue, but at the moment I do need to focus on helping friends find some water to drink.

Stay safe, and please spread the word.

On this channel, we’ve explored a lot of topics together— Bible translation, linguistics, micronations... you name it. To me, they are all about trying to stay curious. But I’d love to know: which of these topics are you most interested in?

Wait… we’ve spent as much time together as a mid-tier Justin Bieber video? 🤯 🤯 Thank you for a billion views! I'm really glad that you enjoy random discoveries as much as I do. I know the comment section on videos can make it tough to connect, so I’d love to meet you here. 🤝🏻 If you drop a comment with where you’re from and what random thing you’ve been into lately—I would be excited to hear from you.

Today, ‪@exploreasheville‬ presented us with a remarkable gift that commemorates a historic event in Ironland! This giant canvas print captures the moment when the legendary Abby the Spoon Lady visited our nation and performed her viral "Angels in Heaven" song right in front of our iron statue.

This gift is a beautiful reminder of Ironland’s deep-rooted history in arts and culture. 🙏 Fun fact: for most hours of the day, our micronation has the highest number of musicians per sq foot of any country in the world.
