A 2002 BMW 318i with an ABS Fault. A client purchased a new Front RS ABS sensor but after it was installed, it did not work. The part store owner had a NO RETURN POLICY on the correct part that was purchased. The first garage installed the part but the ABS DTC remained. The client was pissed that he lost his cash but after I diagnosed and inspected the part that was purchased. I observed that the part number was correct on the box but the incorrect part was assigned to the box. The front RS speed sensor part number was assigned to a LS front wheel speed sensor. In which the sensor was unable to read correctly. Who should be held responsible for this hiccup?
