10,000 Subscribers: Thank You

Reaching 10,000 subscribers is a moment to pause and appreciate just how much this channel and community have come to mean to me. When I first started posting videos almost four years ago, it was simply a creative outlet—a way to document my projects and share my passion for model railroading with whoever might be interested.

What I didn’t expect was how having an audience would shape that journey. Knowing that there’s a community out there following along has been a constant reminder to try new things and take that first step down to the hobby area, even on days when it might be easier not to. There’s a quiet accountability in it, and an excitement to share each new step, each experiment, and each bit of progress with all of you.

10,000 may be just a number, but it’s built from all the conversations, shared ideas, and moments of connection we’ve had along the way. Thank you for being here, for sharing your thoughts, and for giving me the motivation to keep creating. Here’s to the next step in this journey—together.

Are you interested in a video about some cool stub-end stations across North America?

I've made solid progress on my layout planning, and I'm getting close to nailing down the direction. While I’m still working out the finer details, I’ve been diving into how stub-end stations are set up in the U.S. and Canada, including some interesting abandoned ones.

Since layout planning can be a bit of a solo and time-consuming task, there might not be as much to share on that front for a little while. So, I’m wondering—would you like to see the different stub-end stations I’ve come across? It could be helpful if you're thinking of adding a station to your own layout.

Let me know in the poll below! If enough people are into it, I’ll put together a video showcasing the major stations I’ve been checking out.

So I'm trying something new... I've decided to add channel memberships to the N Scale Dystopia world! My goal is to offer you badges and emoticons, provide early access to uploads, and create a series of exclusive, casual, relaxed videos to generate discussion and establish a member-based community. For the time being, I'm offering one membership tier: 'Rail Wanderers.' If you want to learn more, click the 'join' button on the channel homepage for perks and rewards. Thanks!

I had a great time as a guest on the @Crazy Crafter Livestream. We spent more than two hours chatting and building crumbled dystopic structures. I prepared some examples of work for the live stream and assembled them to create this little 8cm x 8cm diorama. If you look closely, you will see our hosts Zane, Collin and Michael hiding out on the third floor as a huge beast stocks them through a dystopic world. Once again want to thank the crazy craft or live stream for inviting me on.

I'm working hard to complete my next project, and I have a few more ideas already queued up. A new video will be released soon!

An additional note: the wandering beast, what's my first attempt at 3D printing a 28-millimetre game piece using my FDM printer. I think the results are excellent, and I may want to dabble in tabletop gaming in the future.

I published my first YouTube video almost exactly one year today, and this past week I exceeded 1000 subscribers. I want to express my gratitude to everyone that's taken to the time to watch my videos, add a comment, subscribe or like. I consider YouTube an online gallery - a free tool that allows me to share things I'm interested in and projects I'm proud of. This is a space for me to have fun and share ideas with the community – a community that has turned out to be very kind and supportive!

When I started this channel, I actively decided to create and share content that suited me and appealed to my aesthetic. I've not concerned myself with numbers and haven't invested the effort it takes to promote and grow a channel. My focus is creating content I like in hopes that others feel the same way. That said, it is not lost on me that the endorsement of over 1000 people is a significant milestone, and I want to take this moment to offer my sincere appreciation. Thank you so very much for your support, and I'm looking forward to the next year of projects!
