Something I've been meaning to do for ages is draw a proper line map and grades diagram. Here you can see how the recent works fit into the wider context. Click here for the full resolution image: i.imgur.com/qTtf46R.jpeg

A recent major event of the large scale world was the Great Southern Steam Up 2024, an annual meeting of virtually every type of live steam loco from tiny pot boilered vintage toys to intricate scale works of model engineering. As usual there was the last minute rush of various things that needed to be fixed to get the rollingstock ready, so not much posting here lately! Everything worked well in the end though, the steam railcar put in an appearance, as well as the tait train and the newest project, the Silverton Tramway W class. I was a bit too disorganized to get much video, but check out the North East Victoria railway's excellent coverage of the event: watch video on watch page

Hello! I realised this channel over the last few days sometime reached 20,000 subscribers, a pretty remarkable amount for a channel entirely dedicated to what is, let's face it, a pretty niche branch of railway modeling.
This is probably as good a time as any to ask, what have you enjoyed so far and what would you like to see more of in future? I get the impression a lot of people are here for the type of relaxing slow paced video miniature trains and trams lend themselves to, and with the ever changing landscape and weather conditions there will definitely be more of that in future.
For people who are into garden railways yourself, or would like to be, would you be interested in more technical videos on how things were made? The high cost of commercial large scale model railways has always been a big barrier to entry, but a lot of things on the tramway were actually made cheaply with common tools and materials available to just about anyone. Trying to break down some of those entry barriers has always been a goal of mine, made a lot easier now with easily sharable 3D printable designs.
Anyway thank you everyone for your support over the last few years, this is something I get a lot of enjoyment out of and it has been great to be able to share it with you.
