I realized that 3D modeling doesn't help me simulate shading, especially for hair.
For this painting, I studied how to depict hair and shading by copying this photo as a reference.

I decided to learn some 3D.
I build backgrounds in Blender, create characters in VRoid Studio, and design clothing in Marvelous Designer.
I'm surprised that just learning the basics of these software is enough.
Previously, my goal in drawing was to improve my technique, and to be honest, it was quite painful. However, when I shifted my purpose to expressing what I want to express, I rediscovered my passion for drawing. My perspective skills are weak, and I struggle to make light and shadow look realistic. Using 3D can immediately fill this gap.
My goal is to use 3D to support 2D, but in practice, I wanted to complete everything in Blender. Later, I added some brush strokes in Clip Studio Paint to make the image look more hand-drawn, but it felt awkward. I realized I need to optimize this workflow.

Progress requires a problem-solving process:
- Identify the problem
- Find the solution
However, I missed one crucial element: having a clear goal.
Up until now, I’ve been unconsciously treating technique as my main objective.
Since I’ve already gained the basics of drawing, making rapid improvements, like before, has become incredibly difficult.
This led me to a plateau, where I kept imitating other artists' styles. But the more I drew, the worse my work seemed to get, and eventually, I lost my passion.
I realized that these imitation practices lacked a process of self-correction. Instead of just improving technique, I want to achieve something more meaningful.
Now, I’ve adjusted my goal to focus on creating interesting artwork.
I can’t wait to share this realization.
For the first time, after identifying this goal, I genuinely feel like I'm creating.
P.S.: Here's the draft of an illustration: A flower elf is taking a pizza out of the oven, while a little cat tries to sneak a bite.

Before I start drawing, I often think about creating something really cool. However, this mindset usually leaves me unsure of where to begin.
So instead, I decided to start with a simple, even boring, sketch, and gradually refine the dull parts. This approach makes it easier to produce something that looks decent.
I wanted to draw a female office worker (OL) who’s sick with a fever but still working overtime.
At first, the sketch was too chaotic, so I made it more organized. But then, it felt too rigid, so I added some elements to introduce more variation.
After adding color, I wasn’t happy with how the light and shadows were divided, so I refined them. Finally, this is the completed version of the illustration.

I have been studying 逢編いあむ’s works, and I tried to experiment with how iamuu_n arranges elements.

In this illustration, I experimented with:
- How to arrange many elements together in a way that looks rich but not chaotic.
- Using parallel straight lines as trend lines without making them look rigid.
- Using shadows in decorative purpose.

In my previous drawings, I used curved objects to create flow.
This time, I want to try something different. I plan to use straight lines objects and more repetitive elements.
To be honest, I feel the line art is better.

This illustration is very simple, with only the character and props.
The main focus of this type of illustration is how to arrange the props.
I want to create a sense of being enveloped, giving a feeling of being forced to accept fate.
Intravenous bags can create part of the wrapping trend, and the missing parts can be filled in with flower petals.
