Parsley: Alkalizing Herb

Parsley fights acidosis and can alkalize the entire body, crossing body systems and driving out acidity across the board. (Note that pH strips don’t give you the feedback on body acidity that you may think they do. You can read more about this in Medical Medium: Secrets Behind Chronic and Mystery Illness and How To Finally Heal).

Parsley’s specialized mineral salts bind onto unproductive acids in the body to drive them out. This alkalizing skill makes parsley a helpful cancer preventative.

Parsley is an all-purpose pathogen-fighter; it keeps bacteria, parasites, and fungus at bay.

Parsley is amazing for anything mouth-related such as gum disease, tooth decay, and dry mouth, as it impedes the growth of unproductive microorganisms there.

It’s also a fantastic anti-DDT weapon—it has a great chelation effect that pulls out stores of herbicides and pesticides such as DDT that you never knew were hiding in your body and holding you back.

Parsley is full of nutrition, including B vitamins such as folic acid, traces of B12 coenzymes, and vitamins A, C, and K. It’s also a highly re-mineralizing food, especially for those low in trace minerals; parsley provides magnesium, sulfur, iron, zinc, manganese, molybdenum, chromium, selenium, iodine, and calcium.

How To Use:

One excellent way to enjoy and benefit from parsley is to juice it with celery. The mineral salts in these related herbs work in tandem. If you wish to receive the healing benefits of straight celery juice as I describe in Medical Medium Celery Juice, it’s important to keep parsley out of this juice and have your celery juice with parsley at another time of day. You can also make a tea from parsley, using the fresh herb ideally.

Chronic Dehydration

The majority of people are living with low-grade chronic dehydration without even realizing it. Dehydration isn’t just about the last day or week or month of your life. It can be a chronic issue, and many babies are even born already dehydrated. Both children and adults are chronically dehydrated.

In addition to being born with dehydration, it can also develop from:

Not consuming enough living water, fresh fruits, vegetables, and leafy greens throughout the duration of your life

Toxins and pathogens
A sluggish, stagnant liver
Diet too high in fat, protein, salt, and cooked food
Consumption of coffee, tea, alcohol, drugs, vinegar
Chronic dehydration:

Leads to thick, dirty blood
Prevents cleansing
Allows pathogens to thrive
Worsens, triggers, or contributes to symptoms such as high blood pressure, strokes, headaches, migraines, dry eye syndrome, dark under-eye circles, and more
Can make all the difference between someone having a serious health issue like a stroke or heart attack
You can help heal chronic dehydration by bringing in a lot more living water from these sources:

Lemon or lime water – find out how to make it here. This drink is especially helpful on an empty stomach in the morning when you first wake up.
Celery juice – get the recipe and find out how to use this therapy for best results.
Cucumber juice – get the recipe and find out how to use this therapy for best results.
Other fruit, greens, and vegetable juices
Coconut water
Also focus on eating a lot more fresh fruits, raw leafy greens, and vegetables, while lowering fats and proteins from animal or plant sources, salt, cooked food, caffeine, alcohol. It’s also important to avoid the foods I share in each of the Medical Medium books that feed pathogens or prevent cleansing, as pathogens and toxins dehydrate the body.

Pears: Pancreas & Digestion Support

For pancreas protection and stress assistance, we must turn to the pear. This neglected fruit helps rejuvenate this neglected and overtaxed gland, helping to alleviate pancreatitis and helping to prevent pancreatic cancer.

Pears are amazing for aspects of digestion. They act as an antispasmodic; help to soothe the linings of the stomach and intestinal tract; feed beneficial bacteria; starve and kill unproductive bacteria, parasites, and fungus; raise hydrochloric acid in the stomach; help prevent intestinal and stomach cancers; and reduce the bad acids produced by mucus and pathogens such as H. pylori. They also help restore linings in the gut that have become damaged and calloused from bacteria.

The little granules in a pear’s flesh are loaded with phytochemicals, trace minerals, and amino acids such as valine, histidine, threonine, and lysine. The trace minerals and amino acids combine and lock onto poisons in the body such as DDT, helping to expel them from your system.

Trace mineral salts make pear juice high in electrolytes, which stabilizes blood sugar. Plus, pears are a great weight-loss food and heaven-sent for the liver, helping to cleanse and purify the organ and help with cirrhosis.

How To Use:

Eat pears alone, in fresh juices, in fruit salads, blended into smoothies, and in salads. Pears are best eaten between breakfast and lunch, or in the late afternoon (shortly before dinner). They act as an appetite suppressant and stomach tonic to prevent you from craving sweets or overeating at meals.

For more information on pears and the symptoms and conditions they can help with, check out the New York Times best-selling book, Medical Medium Life-Changing Foods: Save Yourself and the Ones You Love with the Hidden Healing Powers of Fruits & Vegetables, and the other books in the Medical Medium series.

Tonsillitis

Tonsillitis is caused by Epstein-Barr virus EBV (which takes the form of mononucleosis, or mono, in its early stages). The lymphatic area where the tonsils reside becomes infected as they fight EBV. Streptococcus bacteria is EBV’s cofactor that can further inflame the tonsils.

When tonsillectomies first drew favor, it was a time when children began presenting with tonsillitis, and the prevailing wisdom became that the tonsils should be removed. It became such dominant thinking that no one even thought to question whether the cause of tonsillitis in the first place could be addressed instead. The focus on the medical advancement of the tonsillectomy procedure completely buried the mystery of this wide-spread tonsillitis. Once tonsillectomies became commonplace, someone in medical school wouldn’t be encouraged to probe the problem anymore, because it had become “been there, done that.” Remove the tonsils, the thinking went, and remove the problem. Why spend any more time thinking about it?

Medical communities now recognize that the tonsils are tied into the immune system, and so removing them isn’t the best first option when they’re infected. Now antibiotics have become the favored first line of defense. This is problematic, because while cofactor bacteria can further inflame the tonsils, bacteria are not the underlying cause of tonsillitis; EBV is. This whole time, it’s been juvenile Epstein-Barr virus causing inflamed tonsils.

Celery Juice Oral Therapy

Celery juice can also be used as an Oral Therapy for healing when you’re drinking your celery juice. I give full instructions of how to do these oral therapies in Medical Medium Celery Juice.

For a mild condition, you can try these once or more per glass. For a more severe condition, you can try one of these therapies three times or more per glass.

Sore throat: Keep a sip of celery juice in your mouth for 30 seconds, letting it sit toward the back of the throat so it can kill the bacteria or virus creating the soreness. Try gargling, too, if you’d like.

Swollen glands in throat or neck: Keep it in the back of your mouth, toward the throat, for a full minute before swallowing to help drive it into your lymphatic system over time.

Tonsil stones: gently gargle celery juice before swallowing.

Canker sore or ulcer in mouth: Try first drying off the sore or ulcer with a paper towel or tissue and then taking a sip of your celery juice that you hold in your mouth, making sure that it covers the sensitive spot, for 30 seconds or longer before swallowing.

Toothache or tooth abscess, or injury in your mouth: Let a sip of celery juice sit in your mouth for 30 to 60 seconds to help those sodium cluster salts enter the trouble spot and do their healing.

Read about therapies for having teeth pulled, cavities, receding gums, gum disease, cold sores, fever blisters, bacterial infections, cracks in the corners of mouth, and chapped or cracked lips in Medical Medium Celery Juice.

Avocado: The Nurturer

The avocado is the mother fruit. It is the closest food on the planet to breast milk, and has many nurturing qualities.

Even though the skin of most avocados is inedible, it is loaded with hundreds of undiscovered phytochemical compounds, many of which are infused into an avocado’s flesh as it grows. Some of these phytochemicals are isothiocyanates, which are involved with the color of the yellow-green flesh and help restore stomach and intestinal linings.

When you are suffering from digestive disorders of any kind, avocados can come to the rescue. Easy to digest, their creamy flesh is a gut soother for those with food sensitivities, Crohn’s disease, colitis, or IBS. Avocados possess anti-inflammatory compounds that have an aspirin-like quality without thinning the blood; this reduces narrowing and swelling of the digestive tract. This fruit also has polyp-reducing properties, helping you to prevent or rid yourself of these small growths of the intestinal lining.

Avocados are amazing for the brain, too. A healthy source of omega-6 fatty acids, they can help restore the central nervous system and help with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Eating avocados also has an anti-aging effect on the skin, reducing dryness, giving you a healthy glow, and contributing to the disappearance of dark under-eye circles. They also contain anti-radiation agents that are phytoestrogenic.

How To Use:

Enjoy avocado alone, in salads, guacamole, dressings, and dips.

For more information on the healing properties of avocados and which symptoms and conditions it can help with, check out the New York Times best-selling book, Medical Medium Life-Changing Foods: Save Yourself and the Ones You Love with the Hidden Healing Powers of Fruits & Vegetables, and the other books in the Medical Medium series.

Apple Cider Donuts

These wonderful donuts will bring some comfort and inspiration into your kitchen anytime of year as they fill your home with the heavenly scent of the baking spices. These apple cider donuts are baked, not fried, and they’re also gluten-free, dairy-free, and egg-free. If you are craving a donut treat, this recipe or any of the other Medical Medium donut recipes are a clean choice.

The phytochemicals in apples make them a true brain food, feeding neurons and increasing electrical activity. Apples with red skin contain anthocyanins and even traces of malvidin (a type of anthocyanidin), which are partially responsible for the red color.

Cardamom increases bile production and brings life and beneficial, nontoxic heat back to stagnant, sluggish livers that have overheated for years and are now cooling down. Cardamom’s heat ignites homeostasis.

Shakshuka

Shakshuka is a Tunisian and Middle Eastern recipe of onions and tomatoes simmered with spices that usually contains poached or baked eggs. In this recipe, the eggs are replaced with baby potatoes so you get the delicious flavor of shakshuka without the eggs, which are a troublemaker food that feed the pathogens that are behind countless chronic illnesses, symptoms, and conditions.

Potatoes are substantive and are an excellent replacement for eggs for many reasons. Not only do potatoes have extremely easily assimilable protein; they’re also rich in minerals such as potassium as well as the amino acid L-lysine to help reduce inflammation caused by pathogens, whereas eggs increase inflammation caused by pathogens. Potatoes are also good for ulcers and burning stomach.
