I once wore scrubs to work because I didn’t fit into my trousers anymore.
That morning, I told myself it was just easier for the shift. Truth? I was embarrassed.
My trousers dug in every time I sat down and I didn’t want anyone to notice.
I’d been running on caffeine, skipping meals, eating junk at random hours and it actually caught up with me.
It wasn’t just about the trousers though, it was about losing control of my health and hiding from it.
So if your clothes are feeling tighter, start tracking your protein intake for one week. Honestly, this step makes a huge difference.
Aim for at least 1.5g per kilo of body weight. It’s the easiest way to improve body composition without cutting out whole food groups
Higher protein keeps you full, making it harder to overeat on the biscuits and cake that always seems to be present in the coffee room!
This was one of the first changes I made and it helped me drop weight without feeling deprived.

45 pounds of body fat lost (kept all the muscle mass), metabolic age has moved from 46 years of age to my actual age of 33 (this means I’ve added 13 years to my life through this process).
These are the numbers that truly matter and is why I don’t share many physique pictures on here because that stuff you see online is all very surface level.

I was given the incredible opportunity to visit the YouTube headquarters. There is a real push by YouTube to have reliable information from established licensed healthcare professionals on the platform. This vision amongst other new YouTube features was discussed at the meeting and I am so excited to be part of this process from the beginning. This event also gave me the opportunity to network with many amazing Health content creators in the space.
I came away from the meeting with so many new ideas. Some of which will include creating information videos for patients which will be sitting alongside my junior doctor education videos.
