This Channel has been designed to help women, who have had treatment for breast cancer. The videos offer women information about common questions that have been asked by other women during their treatment phase and beyond, regarding their shoulder movement, arm strength, scarring, breast pain etc.
Surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy can really impose on the woman's ability to perform their normal day to day tasks. Yet specific information regarding rehabilitation options and access to specialized health professionals for treatment may be limited.
In a recent research paper, it was identified that 50% of women at 6 years after their breast cancer surgery had one significant shoulder/ arm symptom ( pins/ needles, pain, weakness). Additional research indicates that there is limited referral of women to rehab services.
LETS open up the information exchange to improve women's recovery after breast cancer by improving access to rehabilitation.
