Calgary, Alberta, Canada: known as "The Heart of the New West." But, perhaps not so "new" after all. Suggestions of potential mud flood, reset and old world-inspired architecture in this young western Canadian city. Let's check it out!
Calgary was "founded" in 1875 by the North-West Mounted Police, and incorporated in 1884 with a total population of approximately 500 people. After the Canadian Pacific Railroad added a stop in Calgary in 1883, the population began to "boom." In 1900 there were approximately 4,000 people in the city.
