Vinayan is an Indian movie director, scriptwriter, producer, and lyricist, who works predominantly in Malayalam film industry and every so often in Tamil and Telugu film Industry. He has made films in different genres such as comedy, horror, action, fantasy and family drama. In a career spanning over three decades, he has directed over fourty films. In 2005, Vinayan marked the history by writing and directing the film Albhuthadweep which cast around 300 dwarfs for the first time in a film. Apart from his role as a director, he has held several administrative posts within the Malayalam film industry. Vinayan is the founder/president of the MACTA Federation. He has also launched a co-operative society (with the assistance of the Government of Kerala) for the benefit of film workers. He is currently the chairman of HORTICORP, a Government of Kerala undertaking. Vinayan is now making Akashaganga 2, a sequel to his superhit horror film Akashaganga.
