Do you know what is a thumbnail sketch?
Thumbnail sketching is an important part of the creative process for artists and designers. This will allow you to quickly capture and explore ideas, concepts, and compositions before committing to a final piece.
These sketches are typically small, rough, and loose, allowing you to experiment with different shapes, lines, and compositions without getting bogged down in details.
Draw squares and give yourself a few minutes to fill them with rapid sketches. Don’t think too much, just draw. Overthinking will hinder this exercise. And if you don’t like the resulting drawing, it’s alright because you are challenging your brain to focus on the basic form instead of the unimportant details.

The first step in drawing from simple shapes is to identify the basic shapes that make up an object. Look at things around you like a chair, a bag, a pencil, or a cat. Imagine how you would draw them using only circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles. The more complex the object, the more basic shapes you’ll need to use to break it down.
To start easy, a circle can serve as the basis for a face, a square can be transformed into a building, and triangles can form the structure of mountains or trees. By understanding how to manipulate and combine these shapes, you can easily construct the framework for any object you want to draw.
