I've just released my FREE digital planner and print log book from 2023 designed specifically for our 3D printing projects! I have taken it off of Etsy (with the change in year).

I created this planner while working on my fully 3D-printed C-3PO to keep my sanity with all the scaling changes and sizing issues. It was a lifesaver, and now I'm sharing it with you all for free!

Check out my latest blog post for all the details. If you have any questions or need help, feel free to reach out to me on social media.

🌟 New Video Alert! 🌟

I'm so excited to finally share my fully 3D printed C-3PO cosplay journey! This video took over a year because I wanted everything to be just right and majorly overanalyzed it. But I realized it's not about perfection; it's about sharing the journey and hopefully helping someone else along on their protocol droid adventures. πŸ”§πŸŽ¨

Did you know I used plastic welding staples for the first time on this project? They were a game-changer!

I had a blast making these custom C3PO glasses in blender! I modified the stl files for the eyes that I used from my full size C3PO to make these. They are see into the future bright so I’m looking into options to dim them, but so cool! Easy on/off switch that will hide behind my ear and I’ll probably Bobby pin to my wig. I love how they came out!

Process photos of C3PO’s foot as I apply the first bit of modeling paste all the way through some of the highlighted stages of sanding. You can really see the big change on the top of the foot as the layer lines completely disappear.

Even after the first cycle of sanding (last photo) you can really see progression. The right hand had its share of imperfections. I started with 60-80 grit in my first round of sanding and ended at 200 before going back through the process of using the filler sanding spray.

I shared the process of using my plastic welder for the first time both here and on TikTok and I learned a ton of tips and tricks from the comments. I worked more on C3PO today and applied the new tips and tricks that were shared with me and I am so excited to share them with you guys! I'll be posting my video tomorrow for using my Plastic Welder.

I love seeing the layer lines disappear as I work through my post print processing cycle. You can really see the transformation between cycles of the modeling paste, filler sanding spray, and sanding. For C3PO’s chest I only did one round of the modeling paste (but let several thin layers of that dry) before moving on to the filler sanding spray. After several cycles of filler sanding spray and sanding the chest is now ready for paint!
