What's good in gf2 is events.
Interesting strategic events are a common thing in turn based gacha games. But for some reason, Hoyo could never.

Last knews from CN serves attracted my attention to Girls Frontline 2.
But after playing a little, I remembered why I dropped it soon after release.
All Gacha games play themselves after you have grown your account. All content can be bruteforced with sufficient investments. But when one just created a new account, one has to play.
Don't want to make it long, so straight to the point.
I'm lvl 50 - boss is lvl 60. Not an issue, my damage is sufficient the only problem is surviving.
What you see on the screen is the boss's mechanic. TL;DR Use a shielder.
But the thing is: The only shielders in the game are limited characters. So, you ether wait and then bruteforce on auto or pull the correct character and do it on auto right now.
Isn't it the exactly how gacha works? Pull or suck. Not nessesarily.

Problems: you need cc, you need cleansing, you need immunity... And for any problem player has 4* solution.

Sword of Convallaria
Similar mechanic - the more hits you take, the more damage you take. But this is a debuff, so the solution is to rotate your characters. And there are also many useful 4* and 3* characters to deal with different scenarious.

Boss takes damage only from ultimates? Some 4* characters with sufficient ultimate damage, such as 1.0 4* Bkornbloom or new Buddy. (And by sufficient I mean anyone can achieve it without luck, we don't have relic system in the game.)

Game presents a problem - games give an achievable solution. You can ether pull the shilled limited character or win with skill.
- But you always say that gacha games are strategy games, which means - mostly about economy.
- That's right. Do you know how to shut me up? Give me a banner-selector with nessesary limited characters. So, the lack of the correct character on account would be the result of my own greed/decision.
Because as a returened player I have 0 options to obtain a shielder right now which is mandatory to save my tank from oneshots after the third turn.
HSR
Star rail is a game about optimal team building are optimal rotations. The shill mechanics are very casual friendly and can be burteforced with meta characters. A new player has a lot of free pulls. Too bad we don't have 4-6 reruns per patch because of the yappers. Could be a solution for a new player to build nessesary teams fast.
Again, gameplay in hsr is Excel, it compensates the lack of meaningful mechanics in battle. If you can't bruteforce a stage, it is most likely result of sub-optimal rotation and wrong pulling-building strategy.
But GF2 has none of above.
Fun fact about meta characters (to campare with HSR), my team contains E5(of 6) "eidoloned" locan Hyacine (current banner). But in gf2 she is even better - she increases max hp of the enrite team by 100% permanently. As you can guess, it's has little value agains this boss. So, I can't even solve this problem by pulling.
I can't play here better, can't apply more buffs or debuffs, can't build the correct character, can't optimaze rotation and chose the right supports. I can only wait. And what will happen after I wait long enough? Game will start playing itself, account will be too strong for endgame.
Battles in this game are ether auto (or manual but very easy) or wait and auto. Compared to Sword of Convallaria, where you can win anything with smart movements.

I played and calmed down a little. I will think twice before changing direction from superbreak to remembrance.
Not her problem, I was satisfied with Evernight's E0S0 with free team performance. She alone enough for current and upcoming MoC. Add here some more cost and this is your third team. But instead of free Archer and for the most easy to bruteforce stage. Questionable.
But, as always, to use her further we will need to start investing in remembrance team. So, the only way to justify pulling E0S0 instead of E0S1 or E-1S-1 is saving for upcoming Cyrene.

I like everything about her except that piece of rag that devs dressed her in. Classic hsr.
