Sometimes as a photographer—in moments of incredible inspiration and clarity—it feels as though we’re being guided by a divine light. Most often however, it’s just a pair of headlights whipping by our heads reminding us that we’re standing WAY too close to the traffic. 😂

When I first started researching locations in Iceland back in 2009, I was like, wow! Those icebergs must be in the middle of nowhere! It wasn’t long after that when I first visited and learned that Jokulsarlon is one of Iceland’s main roadside attractions. Still, regardless of the ease of access and high density of tourism, it’s a phenomenal location for photography, and as a bonus, for a few extra bucks the little cafe will add a shot of whiskey to your coffee. I recommend the double.
