Dear Diary 📔…

🌱 Sometimes, knowing that healing is a journey and not a destination angers me. It pisses me off actually. As someone who has deep wounds with perfectionism and control, it seems like almost everyday, I am fighting something. Either fighting to understand what my wounds are telling me about myself, or fighting to stay happy before I go into that dark place again.

🌱 Sometimes I don’t get the point. I know it’s to allow myself to feel whatever I feel, but that isn’t a good enough reason for me all the time - and there goes my control again. Always wanting there to be an end goal, or something to accomplish, when sometimes being in your stuff, SITTING in your mess, IS the end goal and the accomplishment. But that’s not enough for me, and I hate that. Because it puts me in this perpetual state of never being satisfied.

“ I pray that you see you.”

That’s what my Grams told me on the phone a couple days ago…

🌱 Recently, I was observing myself stopping what I was doing to help someone who was fully capable of helping themselves. But that was the story of my life. This time though, I knew it was God trying to get my attention.

🌱 It’s like I could literally see myself putting me on the back burner to help someone else. And as I type this, I think about how the little girl in me felt like she was always put on the back burner. I came after my mom’s depression, after my father’s drug addiction, and after my siblings’ needs - because I put their needs before my own.

🌱 I realized that I never felt like a priority in childhood and I was doing to myself what was done to me. A couple days later, my Grams called me from another state & said out of no where, “I pray one day that YOU see YOU.”

🌱As she said that, tears rolled down her face as they rolled down mine. And I knew exactly in that moment what she meant. I knew it was God speaking to me yet again. It was time for ME to put ME first. No exceptions. No excuses. No feeling bad about it. No worrying about how it would make someone ELSE feel. THIS. SEASON. IS. ABOUT. ME. My life and what God has for me.

🌱 I don’t know who this is for, but I pray that YOU SEE YOU. That you stop prioritizing everyone else in your life except you. Because THIS IS YOUR TIME. And you have to be wise with what you do with it. You have spent your WHOLE LIFE being here for others, and now it’s time to be here for yourself.

I see you, but I pray that YOU see YOU.

✨less ego, MORE SOUL✨

🌸 The freedom that comes with being true to yourself is worth more than money can buy. Because you cannot buy freedom. And although I am still healing and still shedding, I cannot believe I spent the bulk of my life being someone else. Hiding my true self.

🌸 Just because I wanted to be accepted and survive.
And now, in getting to know my true self, I get to thrive in ways I never thought possible - WITHOUT some form of suffering being a prerequisite for a good life. Getting in alignment with my soul and separating myself from my ego has shown me that there was always another life, a better life possible for me. One that existed beyond my own fears, illusions, and self-doubt. It showed me that there was another way to be happy. To feel full. To be grateful. And that I was ALWAYS deserving.

🌸 Less ego, more soul is so much more than a post or a catchy phrase. It's a way of being. A way of living. What was intended for us all along. It wasn't easy to get here, but it's SO easy to be here. And in my dwelling, I will continue to shed my love and light in only the way my soul knows how. And I want the same thing for you. It is your birthright. All you have to do is allow it. Claim it. Declare it.
Then, be it. Be who your soul came here to be. Because it's already in you. It's already Who You Are.
