Just finishing off the next chapter of our trip to FNQ. We're in the Daintree & on the search for the dinosaur of the rainforest...the Cassowary!! Anyone who has requested more natural bird sounds should hopefully enjoy this video. Should be out Saturday!! .... that's tomorrow! Edit: it’s now Saturday & we’re out birding so video will be out when we get home 😁👍

Our next video from our FNQ trip is in production right now. In this video we travel from Kingfisher Park in Julatten and head across the Daintree river to stay 2 nights at Cow Bay in the Daintree Rainforest. We stayed at a rustic little airbnb and our one mission was to see a Cassowary. We hadn't seen one for about 23 years!! The roads up there had been severely damaged after Cyclone Jasper in Jan 2024 so there were some sketchy bits from the Daintree ferry to Thornton beach. We really enjoyed the fabulous boardwalks through the stunning World Heritage Daintree Rainforest and there was one in particular that we visited 3 times hoping to see the cassowary that everyone else had seen! So do we see one??? You'll have to stay tuned!
(though if you watched our postcard... you'll already know! haha)

FINALLY!!! Our latest video is uploaded & scheduled for Thursday AEST @ 6am!! We hope you enjoy it!!

The next part of our FNQ series is on the way (should be out by the weekend). What can you expect?? Well, after we left the very wet Lake Eacham area of the Atherton Tablelands we ventured further north out of the rainforest, down the mountain & into some dry & hot regions that surround Julatten (where we based ourselves at Kingfisher Park for 4 nights). On the way we popped into Granite Gorge. Fabulous spot for Rock Wallabies & Squatter Pigeons. Once we said hello to the Papuan Frogmouths at Kingfisher Park, we ventured off to find Bustards on the West Mary Road, drove up to Mount Carbine to see Blue-winged Kookaburras, Pale-headed Rosellas, Red-tailed Black Cockatoos and so much more. So, stay tuned! Part 2 of our FNQ trip is on its way!

Woo hoo!!! The first long form video of our recent trip up north to Queensland's wet tropics is finally out! We hope you love it as much as we do! This video is the start of our trip where we stayed at the iconic Crater Lakes Rainforest Cottages. We stayed 4 nights in the deep dark (and rainy) rainforest close to Lake Eacham in the Atherton Tablelands. Fantastic spot!! We hope you enjoy this video!!

While we were up north on our recent trip, we were very excited to find out we had hit the big 1,000 subscribers on our channel!! Thank you to everyone who watches our videos, comments & (of course) everyone who has pressed that subscriber button!! We will have a new video out by the end of this week (hopefully... as I'm working hard on it!!) so stay tuned!! It will be the start of our Tropical North Queensland series and should be lots of fun!
