Old RuneScape Tracks in actually old versions.
In the past, I've used certain RuneScape tracks that were beyond the music update in early 2007 and early 2008 since i didn't have the original RuneScape tracks as the soundtrack pack i used wasn't complete.
Both music updates have changed most music tracks to make sure these are played correctly on their updated music player. This also means some tracks on this YouTube channel actually aren't the original old versions at all! They're "Updated" versions in the original sound. Some tracks were even recorded in Old School RuneScape since these tracks don't play in the original sound at all!
The only thing i could hope if the track actually sounds good in the original sound since you don't know how it originally sounded. Making edits to these tracks are also impossible due to this.
Thankfully, there's still one hope: Old RuneScape Cache files.
Recently I've found a huge RuneScape cache archive at archive.openrs2.org/ which also include RuneScape caches from mid-2006 towards early 2008. I've managed to extract the music tracks from these caches and thankfully i received quite a bit of tracks in the original state that i hadn't have before. Which means i have more RuneScape tracks in the original state than before. This also means that the YouTube channel will be active again like 3 weeks ago as i will be re-uploading some RuneScape tracks in it's original form.
These tracks are:

- Jungle Island XMAS
- Poles Apart

- High Spirits
- Cabin Fever
- Pirates of Penance
These tracks are either changed very, very slightly or not at all but might being uploaded to the channel if the 2011 versions i used have changed these track in a significant way:
- Eagle Peak
- Dreamstate
- Joy of the Hunt
- Slither and Tither
- Jungle Bells
- Roc and Roll
- HomeScape
- Assault and Battery
tl;dr: I got my hands on original versions of RuneScape tracks from up to early 2007 that i haven't had before. I will re-upload these tracks on the YouTube channel depending how much different they sound compared to what i had uploaded in the past. See the list here above for which track will (or might) be re-uploaded.
Also, if you have to happen a very old RuneScape cache from about end 2006 up to february 2007 (before the music update) and from the end of 2007 (after the Bounty Hunter and Clan Wars update) up to the Clan Wars update on September 2008 that are not available on the RuneScape Cache Archive (archive.openrs2.org/). You can help me getting more old RuneScape tracks in it's original format since these are not the only ones that need a re-upload (Floating Free or the original Clan Wars track for example). It seems that:
45% would like the cut-off date to be extended
10% would like it to stay at the end of 2007
45% have no opinion about moving the cut-off date towards 4 February 2008.
This will mean the cut-off date has been extended to 4 February 2008.
I may upload these tracks (not all of them in bulk) starting somewhere next week.

Just a question: Should the cut-off date of end 2007 to be moved? The extension would be not much since on 5 February 2008 the music system got updated with to the "RuneScape HD" soundbanks which is the 2008 to pre-RS3 era of sound. Since the "Old School" sound was still present before that update, i think it would be better to end it there instead of end 2007.
The will mean that the tracks from the initial Summoning update and the "Dealing with Scabaras" "As a First Resort..." quest tracks would be uploaded to the channel.

Hello everyone,
With this message i would inform you all that the YouTube channel is on an indefinite hiatus.
The reason why it's on hiatus is due to the dwindling passion i have with this channel the past couple of years. Since Christmas 2018 I've being inactive on the channel and I've shifted my passion to Old School RuneScape music instead of the old RuneScape music as there is not much to improve besides the sound quality in the YouTube video's.
This also means the project to improve the overall sound quality is on-hold as well. While i would like to replace every video with the improved sound, it would mean i would hide a lot of older video's as a result and retain the popular ones which results in duplicates. Also i find the playlist system a bit too hidden if someone wants to hear the older video's again rather than search for it on YouTube. I could also list every video again but that will make the whole video catalog messy.
I feel if i want to continue with the project, that the best way is too create a new YouTube channel. Creating a line between the old sound quality and the new sound quality rather to clunk this channel with video's with [OLD] or [Depricated] in the name. Of course the new video's on that channel will be not as active as on here but i think it's a more clean solution than what i proposed.
My passion has shifted to Old School RuneScape music since it's something new than the same old RuneScape tracks to work on. Making me more motivated to work with my free time on that.

While it's disappointing that the channel is on-hold indefinitely, please understand this is a passion project and not an commercial one. I'm not making money with the channel and i won't monetize on Jagex' work. This is also why the video's don't have ads unless the video's are flagged on copyright infringements.
I hope with this message that I've informed you all enough why i don't have done anything with the channel since Christmas 2018.

A late Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you don't mind 6 freshly re-uploaded Christmas related tracks in your subscriber feed as i only can improve the overall sound quality on the channel at this point by re-uploading older uploads with better quality.

I've added 3 new playlists. All of them are OldScapeMusic archives containing previous versions of tracks to retain it's comments. This includes Old RuneScape tracks (2004 to early 2007), Old School RuneScape tracks (early 2007 to the end of 2007) and a separate playlist for the Old RuneScape tracks that were sampled using dBpoweramp which were my very first uploads on this channel.
When i re-upload a track, the previous version will be hidden depending how much views the videos of that version has. Videos with 10K views or higher will be remain public while videos under that view count will be hidden. In both scenario's those video's will be moved to the archive playlists.
The playlists doesn't have much yet, but they will be growing when i'm back re-uploading more Old (School) RuneScape tracks.

Since it's Halloween today i want to re-upload all the Halloween tracks with better quality versions if you listeners don't mind. I've just re-uploaded Grimly Fiendish and i would like to re-upload both Scape Scared and High Spirits as well.

This channel offers the original old RuneScape music from 2004 up to early 2008 in the closest sound of the original songs possible.
I will only upload songs that were originally released up to 4 February 2008 and not further due to music player update.
The songs released before 6 march 2007 are MIDI files converted using the BASS MIDI Synthesizer with the default Windows soundfont as this was the sound that most of the RuneScape players heard back then.
The songs released after 6 march 2007 are recorded by OldScapeMusic or by Jokku23 on Old School RuneScape. Newer uploads are ripped straight from the OSRS client.
Songs with digits will not be separated with a space. An example: "attack4". This was used by Jagex in the past.
Every song on this channel is owned by Jagex LTD.
Channel art is created by OldScapeMusic.
