I rarely get emotional when researching the causes behind an accident but in this case, I did.
Rarely have I come across an accident that was so unnecessary!
In this video, I will go through in excruciating detail, what caused this crash and also, how it was possible for the pilots to NOT realize that they were landing with the gear retracted.

One of the most time-critical decisions a pilot will ever take under normal circumstances is to reject a landing at low altitude.
It requires instant decision making, great handling skills and timing.....but what if the aircraft then refuses to follow the pilots commands and instead does something completely unexpected.

It has taken around 6 months of research, email interviews and graphical work to put this together and we are really proud over it.

My team and I have spent the last two weeks, gathering as much info as we could about the door-plug blowout that happened on Alaska Airlines flight 1282.
With the help of whistleblowers, the interim report as well as countless other sources, I believe we have put together the most comprehensive picture of what caused the incident.

The accident that I will be covering in todayβs video, over on the Mentour Pilot channel is a very tragic example of how a minor mistake can be compounded when several other things go wrong at the same time.
There were several rule-changes and procedures that came out of this accident but sadly, as we saw in the recent accident in Japan, not enough.
