New IDs; pogchamp, new IDs; pogchamp!

We've got two new Heishou units of the Wu and You branches this time, which means new Bolus Contamination effects for Lord of Hongyuan Hong Lu. Inflicting Burn and triggering Tremor Burst both seem to be designed to make you want to build hybridized teams or just not worry about it in full Heishou teams. That said, I'll probably try to experiment with him alongside Heishou You Sinclair in a Burn team anyways.

Heishou You Sinclair does seem to be a very potent Burn ID, and since every Burn Sinclair has a Wrath skill as their Skill 3, bringing him won't lose anything in that regard for a Burn team specifically. Bloodflame seems really good for inflicting a lot of Burn potency with his Skills and finally having a unit who can inflict high amounts of Rupture potency will be nice, though judging by his coin amounts, he is almost certainly Rupture Count negative overall. Having a 3-coin skill 1 is gonna be pretty strong, and outside of his statuses he looks like he deals a ridiculous amount of overall damage. Unfocused Volley on the Skill 3 isn't gonna affect its damage too much since you can always manipulate it to target all the same enemy, though the final Gluttony damage proc being against all targets means it will also be really good for clearing weaker enemies that you don't necessarily want other stronger skills to be targeting. His support passive is neat though probably useless. And while I like that he has effects in his passive that trigger off of him having Burn, he can't maintain that Burn on himself for more than a turn and can only gain it on Clash Lose with skills that don't have unbreakables. You can probably reliable trigger it by Overclocking Meursault's Capote though, and we already know he's in the team. Overall he looks to be a really solid unit in Burn and Heishou teams if you can get past the Rupture Count being eaten by his high amount of coins since he's great for Potency infliction and damage. Losing out on an Envy skill in Burn is gonna be iffy but we'll see how that plays out once he's released.

Next up is Heishou Wu Adept Yi Sang, who is instead a hybrid between Rupture and Tremor. Tremor actually has a lot more synergy with Rupture than Burn does considering that Mao Faust is a great user of Everlasting, so having a dedicated Rupture unit who also inflicts Tremor is not a bad thing at all. His variant of Strider applies Haste just like that of the Mao, but it also lets him inflict extra Tremor Potency and gain Aggro, which makes sense since this ID seems to be a bit of a tanky attacker. He gains extra Defense Level when he has a Shield, and gains an effect called Linebreaker just by being fast, triggering Tremor Burst, or winning clashes while he has Strider. Linebreaker gives Shield, and if you maintain it, also gives Final Power and can give Protection if he gets hit too hard. Linebreaker can also make his Skill 3-1 become Unbreakable if it has a high enough Stack.

His skills are pretty standard for a Speed-based ID. They gain Coin Power and damage from going fast, and also gain Coin Power based on the target's Rupture and Tremor which we all expect. His Rupture Count infliction is actually rather prolific, though he seems to be lacking in Tremor Count infliction so his Tremor Bursts are probably only going to be useful for himself in a Heishou team. He also inflicts a good amount of Bind which is pretty interesting because you don't see it very often. Using Skill 3 with enough Linewalker will consume it to use his enhanced Skill 3 - and I just realized that neither of these units have their own Deathrite. In Yi Sang's case, he instead inflicts Concussion, which increases the damage of Rupture and makes Tremor Bursts more effective if the enemy has it. It also applies Commanding Cry to all allies next turn, which is free Clash Power Up and Defense Level Up, so he has synergy with Zwei Ishmael in Tremor at the very least. Applying Commanding Cry also triggers the only effect in what I assume is his fueled passive, which just gives himself some Offense Level Up which is ok.

And speaking of synergy with Ishmael, this ID being on the field makes Jia Family Hierarch Candidate Ishmael a better unit. He applies Attack Power Up to her just for them being on the field together, and makes it so that when Ishmael inflicts Rupture she also gains Poise Potency. Not only that, but after using his Skill 3-2, Ishmael will then perform an Assist Attack against the same target using her Skill 3, which while not amazing, it is always great to have even more Skill 3s going off in a team designed to spam the hell out of them. If you use the enhanced skill 3 on a turn after Lord of Hongyuan Hong Lu used his Defense Skill, and also he uses his own Skill 3 that turn, you're using 4 more skill 3s than would otherwise be possible for a turn for absolutely free.

His support passive seems to be great for Zwei Ishmael specifically. It applies Defense Level Up and then also heals HP if it's below a certain amount. Realistically, this is good for any tanking ID, though the HP heal is not likely to trigger since it's going to apply by highest HP rather than highest HP percentage. It's still neat that Yi Sang finally has another Tremor ID even if it's better for Rupture overall.

So yeah, I think these IDs both look really powerful. I like them trying to hybridize Rupture with other things because honestly I'm getting kinda bored of pure Rupture, though I know that's kinda the thing for Heishou IDs so I can't be too upset at it. The full Heishou team is still going to have a major issue with Wrath generation since a single Skill 3 across 9 units is not gonna cut it in that regard. But I'm always happy to get more Burn units and I'm gonna have some fun experimenting with bringing Lord Hong Lu into that team to see how much of an impact it'll make. Just gonna have to get over Hong Lu not having a Wrath skill I suppose.

New ID; pogchamp, new ID; pogchamp!

Yeah he's pretty busted. On top of having two types of Assist Attack (Skill 3: Exalted Command, Skill 1: Your Will Guides My Blade) as well as Assist Defense (Lordsguard) that applies to another ally, giving them the Lordsguard skill, but he also applies massive bonuses to all Heishou IDs for existing next to them. Skill 1 gives them Defense Power Up so activating Strider or Snake Arm is more reliable. Skill 2 gives Gluttony Power Up, and all of them have Gluttony Skills. Skill 3 applies a new effect called Unrelenting Storm which gives Offense and Defense Level Up on top of activating his alternate Skill 3 and triggering Exalted Command for another ally to use an additional Skill 3. The combo skill 3 also applies Attack Power Up and SP to the ally who he comboed with.

His Clashable Counter applies Slash Power Up to all Heishou allies at Combat Start, and if there are backup units, he will have the Heishou ally with the least HP activate Your Will Guides My Blade and then cause them to trigger Battlefield Retreat which is the variant that Family Hierarch Ishmael has. If they can't retreat, it gives them Attack Power Up instead. This ID also specifically comboes when another ally enters battle - it doesn't have to be a Heishou ID but the Heishous benefit more. They get free SP as well as trigger a Skill for free at the start of combat as an unopposed attack against a random target. If it's a Heishou ID, they will use Skill 3, and any other ID will use Skill 1.

This ID gains Leash-holder of All Heishou at the start of an Encounter for how many other sinners have Heishou IDs equipped, even in the backup slots, meaning it's safe to assume that we'll probably get a Heishou ID for every sinner. This effect increases Hong Lu's minimum speed, Offense Level, Defense Level, and increases the damage and Offense Level of his Heishou allies. When allied Heishou units die, he gains Life From Death, which increases his offensive capabilities by a pretty significant amount.

Heishou Bolus Contamination, I admit, confuses me a little. You gain it after comboing with a Heishou unit using Skill 3. I think each ally can only apply it to him once, and it gets the effect added to it that is based on that ally. Him being a combination of Rupture and Poise, all of these effects seem pretty great, especially the Rupture Count one.

They also decided to make this ID completely nullify the negative effects of Tears of the Tarnished Blood. The first time he hits 1 HP, he'll gain 1 Tarnished Blood, which increases his damage. After he uses the EGO, he gains Damage Up for the encounter. And instead of killing him, it heals him instead. Considering how cheap the EGO is, I imagine this is gonna make it good enough to use.

If there is one thing about this ID that isn't powerful, it's his sin affinities. He clearly wants to be in a team of as many Heishous as possible but outside of 1 Lust skill, they do not generate Lust or Wrath at all. Both of those affinities are fairly significant in most teams, including Rupture. That said, I think it's pretty clear that this is gonna be one of the strongest IDs in the game when paired with the Heishous, so it probably won't matter too much. And we're getting more Heishous during the next Intervallo, so I imagine he'll only get better overtime.

So if anyone's wondering why I haven't posted much recently, it's mostly just because I haven't been very motivated to make anything limbus related recently. I really want to find some way to expand into other content at some point.

I haven't started making reviews of old IDs/EGO because I'm trying to figure out where to start with it and how to format it since I won't be able to do it exactly the same. I just don't know right now.

My motivation will come back; it usually does. Just gotta find something to bring it back with is all. I hope to get something out this month that isn't just a new ID review but I won't make any promises.

I appreciate you all though. Just give me a little time.

Would you want to see me go back and remake some of my extraction reviews in my newer style? It would help to put older IDs/EGO into perspective for a modern metagame and also allow me to go over stuff that I did prior than Walpurgisnacht 4 in a way that isn't super sloppy.

New ID, pogchamp; new EGO, pogchamp!

The return of TimeKilling Time unsurprisingly has brought us some more Tremor support. The first new addition in this case is T Corp. Class 3 VDCU Staff Outis. One of my biggest gripes of the old T Corp IDs is that getting Borrowed Time didn't allow you to act during the turn, and making the defense skill into a Clashable Guard does actually solve that issue. Not only that but it gains and inflicts Tremor Count which is always useful. She also gains Final Power when she has Borrowed Time which seems very strong to me since the effect already gives Clash Power, but a little bit more damage is always helpful. Aside from that, she has the same Golden Time effect as the other two T Corp IDs.

Her position in a Tremor team seems to be to inflict a lot of Tremor Count, which is always an effective strategy for the unit to have in a Tremor team. What's interesting is that on her Skill 2, she consumes the target's Tremor Potency to raise their Count. This can be counter-productive but at least your team will never have to worry about maintaining the Count with her around. Her Skill 2 also triggers Amplitude Conversion into Tremor - Chain which is widely considered to be the worst Tremor type - but only if the enemy doesn't already have a Tremor Amplitude, so you don't need to worry about overwriting a better Tremor type at least. In addition, it also deals more damage if it can't convert.
Skill 3 grants a new effect called Violent Collections, which improves her Tremor Count gain while also boosting her damage if she's faster than the target. This shouldn't be an issue if you're in Borrowed Time - also it doesn't appear to expire so either it only lasts for one turn or it's just permanent once you use it. She actually triggers the same number of Tremor Bursts as Molar Outis which is the slot competition for this ID, which they kinda had to do to make her worth using over the alternative. Making the Time Moratorium infliction of the skill be bound to spending enough Tremor Count on the last coin (which appears to be a very strong coin) is neat, though it will make this skill act similar to Rip Space in that you'll want to hold it until you can get the full boost (though without the downside of using it early).
Last thing of note is that this Affinity combination perfectly fuels her own Ya Sunyata Tad Rupam - an EGO that is actually one that is nice for this ID. Applying Attack Power Up to allies is always useful, and since Borrowed Time will make her incredibly fast, you won't have the awkward situation where it applies to an ally who has already acted for the turn. The fragility is nice though Tremor is not the team who best makes use of Lust skills, but it will help sometimes. Overall, this ID reads like it'll be a decent sidegrade to Molar Outis, because while her skills are a bit better, it is hard to beat the consistency of a Discard ID.

Crushbound Past is Meursault's second WAW EGO, and it having 4 coins is enough to convince me that it'll be fantastic for damage. High Atk Weight EGO with 4 coins have always been insane for damage, so this is likely to be Meursault's generalist WAW EGO. It has a bunch of damage conditionals as well as inflicts a ton of Tremor; those are the things we kind of expected from it, so onto the unique parts.
Triggering an odd-numbered Sloth Resonance on an odd-numbered turn, or even on even, will make him heal SP after using it, or improve its damage on the corrosion that I don't see being very useful. The EGO itself also heals Meursault's HP based on his Accumulated Past, which he gains after using the EGO for the first time. Accumulated Past gives both Clash Power Up and Offense Level Up based on its value, which means this is *yet another* Meursault EGO that gives him a great passive effect (damage and ability to win clashes). The passive also gives Damage Up on odd-numbered turns, and Protection for even turns, mimicking the Metronome EGO gift.
The first hit triggers Am[p]litude Entanglement on the main target, but unlike any of the other things that trigger Entanglement, it doesn't actually add a new Tremor type to the mix. Instead, it just turns whatever is already on the target into Superposition. Not sure how useful this will be but it might make setting up a huge burst using Everlasting a bit simpler. The final Coin deals more damage based on the target's Tremor, then triggers additional Tremor Bursts based on how much Tremor that target has, which means yes, this will end up in Reverb setups to make the burst turn much more potent, as does any Tremor EGO with multiple bursts.
The Corrosion is only one coin, and so while it has more damage conditionals, I would expect it to not be very useful. It's likely to be extremely expensive to manually activate, but having fewer coins will naturally reduce the amount of damage it deals, so it has to be a massive damage increase to be worth using.

Both seem like pretty great additions to Tremor teams. Crushbound Past is gonna be a great pickup for any team that uses Meursault since Yearning-Mircalla is kinda limiting, and the new Outis seems like a great unit all around. Looking forward to seeing the changes being added to TimeKilling Time.

Oh also Lobotomy E.G.O::In The Name of Love and Hate Don Quixote is getting a massive buff because her Charge Count spending was bugged and gave Potency too fast. So now all of her skills are going to be stronger.

New IDs, pogchamp; new EGO, pogchamp!

6th Walpurgisnacht is upon us, and with it brings a bunch of support for Charge and Sinking (and Rupture, shut up). Starting with Lobotomy E.G.O::In The Name of Love and Hate Don Quixote, her actual skills are very simple. Every skill gains [Charge] but also spends it to become more powerful. The interesting part of her kit is that when she is below 0 SP, she swaps to another mode that changes all of her skills to Negative Coin skills that inflict Sinking instead of Rupture. She'll also gain Hysteria for every turn at negative SP, raising her damage with those skills.

Her natural Skill 3 builds up her Magical Arcana, and it reads like getting Magical Arcana to its maximum amount will force her into Regressive Transformation - Reversed, but I can't tell without seeing what numbers are in those effects. Additionally, using her Skill 3 while in negative SP will consume all of her Magical Arcana to gain Atk Weight, then heal her SP, hopefully into positive numbers again. Her Skill 2 also inflicts Mark of Villainy, which just makes enemies take more damage from Don Quixote on the next turn.

This is a really good ID for Envy Resonance teams that utilize Charge a lot, which I was not expecting. She'll definitely pair well with Middle Sinclair, and having so much EGO for Charge will make her a mainstay in that team as well. Her support passive is also crazy in Charge, providing HP healing to whoever has the least Charge Count and also giving them more Charge Count, or healing SP if they're below 0 SP.

Lobotomy E.G.O::The Sword Sharpened with Tears Rodion actually works the same way; when above 0 SP, she enters Blessing/Protective Sword mode for the turn, and at below 0 SP, she enters Despair/Piercing Sword mode. When in Blessing mode, she gains Aggro and whenever she is hit, she inflicts Sinking to the attacker. In Despair mode, she loses Aggro and inflicts additional Sinking Count after a clash and on the first hit of each skill. In order to modulate into her Despair mode, you need to use her Clashable Guard in order to gain Tear-Sharpened, which will allow her to gain more [Charge] and also reduce her SP over time, and also increases the amount of damage as well as gaining a specific type of Power Up based on which mode she is currently in. If she has the maximum amount of 3, she also consumes it when using the final coin of a skill in order to deal more damage and inflict more sinking. Notably, she can't drop below -40 SP from her own effects.

All of her [Charge] is gained from the final hit of her first two skills in both modes, gaining an additional amount based on her Protective/Piercing Sword, which the amount is determined by her current SP at the start of the turn. The only major differences in her attack skills are the fact that they lose SP on use for her negative coin skills ala N Corp Sinclair, and her third Skill's final hit reuses the Coin if it consumes Tear-Sharpened. Her Clashable Guard also becomes a Clashable Counter which still gains Tear-Sharpened but also allows you to deal damage at the same time. She has absolutely fantastic sin affinities for a Sinking team, and pretty good ones for a Charge team, so I imagine she will fit really well into both. Plus, she perfectly fuels Rime Shank, so we're definitely gonna see her in Sinking I would guess. Just a matter if she's better than Dieci (she has a different physical damage type so the use-case is slightly different). Her Support Passive just boosts the power of Negative Coin Skills, so it's questionable whether or not it'll have great use.

While these IDs have a ton of text on them, outside of their mechanic that allows them to reach lower SP, they kinda just play like any other Charge ID. It's hard to judge how awkward any of these mechanics will be just from these images, but I imagine they won't be so difficult to utilize that they wouldn't be worth bringing.

But we also have a new WAW EGO in In The Name of Love and Hate Don Quixote. Firstly, this gives the new ID an additional copy of her Skill 3; what the fuck? It also enables the ability to use Charge Potency for any Charge ID that uses it and increases the damage they deal based on their Charge Potency.

On top of healing the HP of allies and providing a buff that gives Attack Power Up and Damage Up based on Envy Resonance (love this) as well as Final Power for skills that consume Charge Count, it also gains Atk Weight based on the user's Charge Potency and inflicts Mark of Villainy. The amount of HP healed is based on how much Charge Count the user consumes, and the first hit actually gains Charge Count so this effect will at least always activate. It also seems like it will inflict a decent amount of Rupture, but only inflicts Rupture Count if used by the ID of the matching EGO and while positive SP.
The Corrosion is mostly the same, but instead of buffing and healing allies, the skill just deals more damage with all of its conditionals. Additionally, the Atk Weight gain is more prolific than before. Also unlike the Awakening, it will inflict Sinking instead of Rupture. I imagine you are meant to use this Corrosion alongside the Regressive Transformation - Reversed state of the new ID, and I expect it not to have much of a use case outside of that.

tl;dr: These IDs are very powerful Charge IDs and, in Rodion's case, Sinking. They have mechanics which changes their skills to negative coin when below 0 SP and allows the player to manipulate their SP to negative amounts. Don Quixote is fantastic for Envy Resonance, and even has a new Charge/Envy Resonance EGO to go along with it. Really hate how many words are needed to explain something that's so easy to explain via talking, but I also get it. They both seem like they're gonna be worth pulling for, and since they're limited, you'll want to pull for them anyways. Here's hoping they're good.

New ID, pogchamp; new ID, pogchamp!

This one's gonna be slightly different because we actually do know the numbers on this ID for everything except the Support Passive and the Fell Bullet status effect since this ID was showcased in the Mirror Dungeon livestream on Friday that Kim Jihoon did. And I want to start by saying that I don't think this ID is actually that bad. His Poise generation is fairly reliable and having access to a Pride Clashable Counter is really strong for any Poise team, especially since it rolls a little better than Skill 1 without conditionals. He does have a low amount of coins so his damage isn't astounding except for his Skill 3. And that Skill 3 can be pretty crazy. Under maximum conditionals and if the first hit kills an ally, this can potentially deal as much damage as Full-Stop Heathcliff's Skill 3 (Going for Bullseye, not Pulverization Round) to as many as 3 different targets, though you'll have to kill an ally for that. He also perfectly fuels his own Fell Bullet EGO, and his passive allows him to maintain his Torn Memory even after using it.

Ok, now for the reasons why I don't think this ID is gonna have much traction. Honestly, the big reasons are less to do with this ID being bad and more to do with what other IDs it competes with. In terms of being a Bleed ID, it already doesn't inflict a huge amount, and you can't really compete for a spot in Bleed teams against Ring Yi Sang anyways due to his high damage and Bleed infliction. In terms of Poise he does a lot better, but you're still competing against Blade Lineage Yi Sang, who has been one of the most reliable Poise IDs in the game since Uptie 4 came out. Not to mention that Blade Lineage technically fuels the Fell Bullet EGO better than this ID does for some reason. And the biggest reason that this ID has a hard time competing with those two is that they are both Standard Fare IDs. During the next season specifically, this ID will be unshardable while the two that compete with it - and are better than it overall - will still be obtainable. While this ID is really cool aesthetically, from a gameplay sense (which I know most of you put a lot of stock into) I do not see why you would go out of your way to get this ID over either of those two.

Another thing that I am not a big fan of is effects that rely on you killing a sinner that is not the user. It's no secret that I hate the Fell Bullet EGO on Yi Sang; to be clear, it's not that I think it's bad, I just think the mechanical outcome of an optimal usage is not worth what you have to sacrifice to get it. It's perfectly fine for you to think otherwise on that. But now we have a 2nd thing on Yi Sang who has an effect that relies on defeating another ally. The most annoying part is that the optimal target for an effect like this is another ID on Yi Sang in Lantern, since it will give you a bunch of resources and inflict a bunch of Rupture.

The issues with the viability of this ID really aren't due to its kit being bad, but moreso because it doesn't do enough to compete with other things that we already have. I think he'll be fun to use, I just don't see myself using him outside of the Mirror Dungeon, and that's a bit disappointing because I love his aesthetic.

(While I plan to make an overview of this ID, I do not plan on pulling for him when he comes out. This is mostly because I'd like to save my current lunacy for Walpurgisnacht, which is very likely to happen soon. As a result, the video format might look slightly different than normal. I also plan on streaming some exploration of the new Mirror Dungeon on Thursday once it's out, so I hope to see you there.)

New IDs, pogchamp; new IDs, pogchamp!

Lots to talk about so let's start with Sinclair. It is interesting that he has so much more Tremor infliction when compared to Burn. We knew that the Thumb would be a combination of both, but only having a consistent way to inflict Burn on Skill 3 is an interesting decision, and it'd have to be a lot for him to be worth bringing in a Burn team. His unique ammo type is pretty much just ammo; that massive extra first passive is just describing that his skills can't inflict Burn if he doesn't have the ammo but he can still use the coins.

The important status that both of these IDs share is Tremor - Scorch. It's basically a Wrath equivalent to Tremor - Reverb except it goes by half of the potency of the combined potency of Tremor and Burn on the target, plus it takes 1Burn Count when Tremor Burst is activated. While more restrictive, it probably allows for hybrid Tremor + Burn teams to actually become a thing, and since Sinclair specifically is more Tremor-focused, that definitely supports that idea.

He has no way to reload, but does give some of his 15 Ammo to other allies when they are running low. This can give ammo to any unit and is given as regular Ammo if they aren't from the Thumb, though he obviously gives more Ammo to Meursault. His support passive does the same thing, though I imagine it only activates once per Encounter given how it is worded, though it should still be useful. Not much else to say other than that it's interesting that he has 4 different affinities.

Meursault has a ton of words in his kit though surprisingly few of those are part of his Skill conditionals. Unlike Sinclair, he does actually inflict Burn with every skill which is important because this ID is his first actually good Burn ID, and it has the same affinities as Liu so he is basically replacing that. He can't inflict Burn without ammo, just like Sinclair. He has a combined 20 total ammo between Tigermark and Savage Tigermark Rounds; he starts by going through his 12 Tigermark Rounds and then reloads into Savage when he either uses his Defense Skill for the first time, becomes staggered, or expends the last Tigermark Round, and this will both give him his 8 Savage Rounds and also Unrelenting Spirit, a persistent effect that increases his damage, speed, and Tremor infliction. It then becomes Unrelenting Spirit - Shin if he's spent enough Ammo during the fight, and while it has the exact same wording, it probably is just a better version of the buff. And if it triggers from Stagger, it even heals the Stagger at the end of the turn.

All bullets that he uses increase the power and damage of coins that use them through his passive, and his Skill 3 Coins that use ammo become Unbreakable. Coins that would spend Savage Rounds also inflict additional Burn, and once you've spent all Savage Rounds, every Coin on all of his skills that spends ammo becomes Unbreakable, regardless of if you have any left or not.

His Skill 3 becomes Empowered once he has Savage Tigermark Round, and that Skill 3 is awfully powerful, perhaps unsurprisingly. If he were to spend his last Savage Round using that empowered Skill, it also gains Atk Weight and he gains Overheat at the next turn. It still increases his speed, but it reduces his Clash Power and increases the damage of the Unbreakable Coins of his skills based on how much total Ammo he has spent during the Encounter, plus gives him some Protection based on how much HP he is missing. It is an alright effect, but notably, it will go away if Sinclair gives him back some of his ammo to reuse his Skills with.

And lastly, his support passive is helpful for any team that relies on Ammo to deal damage, and I imagine it will make Full-Stop Heathcliff deal quite a bit more damage overall.

Alright, so let's discuss viability. I see no reason as to why these units won't be strong in a Tremor team. Even if they overwrite Reverb with Scorch for enemy Tremor, nothing on the effect states that you can't deal the bonus damage if the enemy doesn't have Burn, so you still get a bunch of extra Wrath damage from bursting tremor. Plus, imagine an Entanglement turn with both Reverb and Scorch on the target, and how much extra damage that would result in.

As for their viability in Burn, I don't think fitting Meursault into the team is going to be difficult at all. He perfectly fuels Capote which is incredible for inflicting Burn, so even when he's out of Ammo, he'll still be able to inflict a lot of Burn to enemies, and it also inflicts Tremor and bursts Tremor too, plus it boosts his damage with its effects. He's got really good sin affinities for Burn though it sucks to lose out on an Envy Skill.
Sinclair on the other hand may not fit in super well. The fact that he only inflicts Burn on Skill 3 actually doesn't really matter; I've always been of the opinion that IDs can be used in Burn if they are both good and have good sin affinities. The issue is that replacing Dawn Office actually really does hurt your Sin Generation for both Gloom and Envy; you'll still have Envy through the Skill 3s of Liu Ishmael and Liu Yi Sang, but your only Gloom skill will be Firefist Gregor's Counter, which while not a bad skill, is definitely not something you're going to use a lot. And unlike Meursault, he lacks a good EGO to inflict Burn with since 9:2 is very situational to begin with and Lifetime Stew really isn't being used for its Burn infliction. He'll probably see use in hybrid Burn + Tremor teams, but Dawn Sinclair will take precedent in teams leaning heavier into Burn due to his sin affinities.

That's what I think so far. Both IDs read very strong to be honest, and I'm definitely gonna have fun experimenting with them. The Thumb is one of my favorite factions aesthetically even if I find their themes to be a bit generic, but the Thumb of the East at least has a unique fighting style, and they win points from me for being Burn units.

Listen, I'm all for more Burn support, and Tremor hasn't gotten anything in like a year so I can't be mad on that front either.

But this is not the ID we should be getting. I realize that they want to give us something based on Lei Heng, since they aren't exactly going to have another chance to. It's just that the power scaling here is completely messed up in terms of the power of ID we're allowed to have. He probably won't be the most powerful ID in the game, but if we go by the strength of the character, this should be able to take Ring Yi Sang and blast him into another dimension without lifting a finger (pun intended). I'm interested in how they're going to try and justify us getting this, but it's also curious that every Meursault ID is that of another character who is also hot (excluding Camille).
