Itโ€™s strange to receive an award for sharing the gospelโ€ฆ but weโ€™ll take it! Surpassing 100K on YouTube has been a year-long journey for our team (several of whom arenโ€™t pictured here but contributed a ton!) and I am so proud to serve alongside them. Their gifts and heart to serve the global church through storytelling make it a joy to do this work.

And itโ€™s also worth mentioning that we couldnโ€™t tell the stories we do without the support of every person who follows along on YouTube and other platforms. We read and appreciate your comments and messages.

Our team is already cooking up some new stories and we canโ€™t wait to share them with you!

YOU ARE INVITED to join us with tens of thousands of believers from around the world to faithfully study, pray, and act at Secret Church 24 on April 19. But what does that look like? ๐Ÿ‘€

๐Ÿ“– STUDY: Weโ€™ll take a 6-hour deep dive to study Godโ€™s epic tale of redemption in the story of Ruth with @plattdavid_ . Ruth is a story that reminds us that each of our lives โ€“ no matter how ordinary they may sometimes seem and no matter how difficult they may sometimes be โ€“ is indeed a part of a plan much larger than ourselves and much more thrilling than we could ever imagine.

๐Ÿ™ PRAY: This year we will explore the story of the persecuted church in North Korea, considered by many the most hostile-to-Christians country in the world. Together, we will pray and support our brothers and sisters in North Korea, Cambodia, Indonesia, and other persecuted places.

๐ŸŒ ACT: We will be challenged to live on mission โ€“ in our neighborhoods and to the nations.

The best rate for Secret Church 24 ends tonight at 11:59 pm CDT. Register now before the prices increase to the final rate, and join tens of thousands of believers around the world!

We hope to see you, your small group, church, and family there!

Register at the best rate before midnight tonight โžก๏ธ radical.net/secret-church-2024/

How is your local church participating in the Great Commission?

Hearing the gospel is the greatest need in the world, and there are greater opportunities to spread the gospel today than ever before in historyโ€ฆbut are we equipping each disciple of Christ to play a part?

Recently, @plattdavid_ was joined by church and ministry leaders from around the world at The Gospel Coalitionโ€™s Conference to discuss how local churches can create and cultivate a culture of sending and going to the nations.

Check out these discussions on our channel.

Sharing the gospel and proclaiming eternal life is our goal, right? So, could focusing on the local church be a distraction and slow us down in this goal?

Plus, canโ€™t we just invite our friends to a small group Bible study over dinner?

No...

ย In Acts 2, we see Peter share the gospel boldly.

But, if we continue reading, in Acts 2:42 we see what life looked like for the newly converted.

โ€œThey devoted themselves to the apostlesโ€™ teaching,ย to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.โ€ Acts 2:42

God cares for the church so much so that:

โšซ Jesusโ€™ blood was poured out for her redemption (Acts 20:28).

โšซ Jesus is the head of the church (Ephesians 5:23)

โšซ The gates of hell will never prevail against her (Matthew 16:18).

If missionaries settle for anything less than the local church, they do a disservice to the church and to the Christians they serve.

We need the local church.

Is it time to have the talk with your parents about going overseas?

Youโ€™ve been feeling a calling to go overseas and so far:

Your friends are excited for youโ€ฆ

Your pastors have encouraged youโ€ฆ

But - you are afraid to have the conversation with your parents. Here are some helpful tips:

Allow your parents to have clear expectations and a better understanding of where you believe the Lord is leading you to serve.

As parents, they are likely going through a rollercoaster of emotions as many of their expectations about your life begin to shift. So, give your parents space to process this news and ask questions.

Invite your parents to your missions trainings, meetings, or even to your mission field as they partner alongside you.

Donโ€™t forget, if you are called by the Lord, He will sustain you. He is the one who has called you and he will open doors for you to serve him.

This is one of my favorite shots from our entire trip to Turkey. If you believe any of the following: there is one God in three Persons, Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, the Holy Spirit is the Giver of Lifeโ€ฆ then you owe a ton to the guys who met in the ruins of the building in this photo seventeen hundred years ago. This is what is believed to be the meeting place of the Council of Nicaea. They wrote the Nicene Creed, a document commissioned by Constantine to clearly define the beliefs of the Church.

Have you ever walked in a building and immediately felt like something was a little off? My experience in Hagia Sophia brought me back to a few years ago. I was in Spain and was surrounded by beautiful cathedrals that had been there for centuries. Hagia Sophia was so similar, but the carpeted floors and the minarets reminded me of how quickly things can change. What was once a monument of Christianity known all over the world is now filled with prayers to a different god.

At the end of the day, itโ€™s not about buildings. But these walls represent something greater. So, how can we be praying for the gospel to advance in Turkey once again? Will there ever be a day when Christian prayers fill this room again? When people worship Christ in spirit and truth? Could hardened hearts turn to Jesus just like they did so many years ago?
