Herakles Update!
Our handsome boy is making some visible improvements. You can now see his nose coming back!
Originally, the fungal infection made it hard to see his eyes. Now, he has a full half inch of space between where his eyes start and the edge of the fungal infection. The space there is now fresh, healthy skin.
His little cheeks are still puffy, but the overall swelling has gone down drastically.
We are so proud of this guy.
Thank you to everyone who supports our efforts, allowing us to give cats like Herakles a shot at healing and having their happily ever after.

Hope and Odyssey Relaxing 😍
Odyssey went to the vet on Friday, and he got neutered. Unfortunately, his nose didn't have any fluid that could be actively drained, so he just needs to continue his medication.
The fires are still going strong, but we are still safe. More areas have been added to the evacuation list. This fire has now been classified as a state of emergency.
The air is thick. It's extremely hot and smokey, but we have all the air purifiers going on full blast. We are taking it easy with all the rescues today and have all of our crates ready in the front yard in case anything with the fire changes.
Thank you to everyone for offering support if needed and for checking in on us. We love you all ❤️ We will definitely let everyone know if we need to evacuate to get the help needed.

There are evacuation orders to the east of us. So far, we are safe, but we are keeping a close eye.
This fire has taken 7,122 acres and it's currently at ZERO percent contained.
Woke up to ashes all over our vehicle.. it's quite scary with all the lives in our care. The smell of smoke is everywhere. On top of all that, we just had an earthquake about an hour ago.
If we need to evacuate, we would need help with temporary fosters. We only have a small SUV and 45 cats in our care, not including our two doggies.
We will let everyone know if anything changes.

Today marks the 2 year anniversary of Santana passing.
Our beautiful boy taught us so much in the short time he was with us. He gave us so much knowledge about feline cancer, and his spirit and will to fight taught us that cats can have a great quality of life even with a terminal diagnosis.
Today, we are doing a $2 Santana challenge. If anyone is able to donate $2, it will go towards our cat ranch. We are getting closer every day to making the ranch and reality, and we can not even imagine how many more lives we will be able to save. If all of our followers donated $2, we would be able to get the Ranch already ❤️
At our ranch, we will have a hospice center named after Santana, where we will offer care to cats with a terminal diagnosis.

Here is a little update on Atlas.
This beautiful boy has been hanging out with foster parents and doing amazing. He has been fighting cancer since the day we rescued him. He is such a grateful little guy that we love so much ❤️
He just wanted to say hi so that you guys don't forget about him.

Everyone meet Sarah and Ximena!
These are two of the dumped babies of Mama Ventis. Mama Venti went to the vet and had a variety of tests done before she met her babies, and it was found she had coccidia.
We got the babies tested, and they came up positive, too. Little ones have been on antibiotics for the last week and are doing good ❤️
We split up the babies between fosters because 5 bottle babies can be a bit stressful for one foster to handle. Intros and updates on the others to come soon 🤗
Venti is doing great! Exciting update coming for her soon.

Cats of San Bernardino was started by Jaina and Ivy Spagis when they moved to San Bernardino in 2016
from Los Angeles. They were shocked that San Bernardino did not offer free spay and neuter
services like LA and realized that the feral situation in their new neighborhood was out of
control. They began trapping and spaying/neutering feral cats at their own expense, but soon
realized the problem was too big to tackle on their own.
They have converted their home into an animal sanctuary, providing space for kittens and their
mommas waiting for adoption, rehabilitation areas for recovering injured cats, play areas for
healthy cats. With the help of foster families in the city of San
Bernardino they have as many as 50 cats in their care at one time.Their dream is to one day
have a large property/facility which will help save thousands of more lives. This new property
would have catios, feral enclosures, a medical room, nursery, rehabilitation area, and adoption
center.
