"Birthday Memories" A TMF Next gen Fanfic.
Today is pretty special to me.
It's almost funny how time goes by so quick without you noticin'.
I still look outside and remember what she looked like. Her pale face. Her ivory hair. Her loving eyes. Dad always said that was the best of her i got. Both of em. On any other normal day, I'd agree, but today. Today feels... wrong, to know that fact...
She should be back. Maybe she'll clear things up for us both. The cake's still here. freshly baked. Even got her a couple candles so she doesnt feel old. ...Older. She might be back. I don't know when, it's been a couple years. Her boss, i heard, is pretty tricky to scape by, so I'd get the delay...but at the same time, I can't help but wonder...
Why?
Why did she do it? Why did she have to put that much effort for me? Was I that bad of a kid that she chose to walk to death's door to avoid me? She said she wanted to keep me safe, but she didn't have to do it. That job was open for plenty o' people. War's not goin' anywhere, so why did she?
She used to tell me stories. Some that were real, some that weren't...She even told me why Daisies were her favourite flower. I remember she...used to put them in my hair and take lots of pictures every year on my birthday. Freshly cut, too. She had time on her hands, that's for sure.
The day she left, i was 6. She hugged me. Hugged me real tight and said to me: "Jason..Be good to your daddy. Be good, even when the world seperates you two. After all, If I'm gone, He'll be your guiding light.". She lied. Dear God, she lied. It's been 13 fuckin' years. And I still don't know what the hell she's been talkin' about.
Now i'm wearin' this stupid, fuckin' headpeice as my punishment. A reminder of what I lost. What shouldve been. Where she shouldve been if i wasn't born. It's not fair. It's never fair.
She said she'd come home today. We have party set up. champange, wine... She doesn't drink, right? I forgot. I almost forgot what she even smelled like. I've almsot forgotten..If she's even real.
Anyways...Happy birthday, mom. Here's to another year. And here's to another heartbreak. And here's to another promise..that you broke.
