Daniel Bueno nasceu em Carnaíba, interior de Pernambuco. Em Afogados da Ingazeira, cidade vizinha, cursou o Ginásio e o Científico. Aos 15 anos, começou a trabalhar como repórter na Rádio Pajeú, emissora local. Aos 24 anos venceu o Festival Pernambuco Música Hoje com “Canção para Dom Hélder”, enquanto atuava como crooner na banda Rutilante. Em 1987 mudou-se para o Recife, onde gravou seu 1° disco (1990, autoral) e 15 CDs nos anos seguintes. É autor de cerca de 100 composições. Apaixonado pela língua portuguesa, formou-se em Letras e passou a publicar livros de curiosidades, incluindo o Glossário Gonzaguiano, compêndio sobre a obra do Rei do Baião. Apologista da cantoria, organizou festivais de repentistas e assimilou a técnica da poesia popular, o que o levou também a produzir cordéis de variados temas.
