The IMI-group has a high multidisciplinary nature and consists of enthusiastic scientists with a background in biology, medicine, chemistry, and/or physics. Jointly they pursue the development of new imaging agents and imaging technologies that can be applied during surgical and/or radiological interventions (image guided surgery).
Due to the different backgrounds in the group, we are involved in all aspects of research, ranging from synthetic organic chemistry to the performance of preclinical and clinical studies. Hereby the ultimate aim is the rapid clinical translation of new technologies that are beneficial for patient care.
Students who wish to join the group for an internship are encouraged to directly contact the person whose research interest matches best with their own.
The key research topics of IMIlab are:
"From molecule to man"
Image guided surgery
Radio guided surgery
Fluorescence guided surgery
Surgical navigation
Molecular imaging
