“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” - Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)
As Christians, it is expedient that we please God. The scripture above clarifies that we please God when we have faith.
It went on to say that we have faith if we believe that God exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
Earlier in that chapter of the book of Hebrews, faith is defined as confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Many times, difficult situations persist and we tend to forget that God exists.
This scripture reminds us to have faith in God. To keep trusting in His promises. Even when our situations don’t look like it, we must remember that God will reward us if we continue to seek Him.
In verse 2 of the same chapter, we see that the ancients were commended for their faith in God. If you read the whole of Hebrews chapter 11, you will see how these ancients kept their faith in God even when they had reasons not to.
They are our examples. Let’s learn from them and keep our faith in God. Times may be hard but God exists. He sits on the throne. And He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him.
