Today is the 3rd year since MCC 17 and Grian (And SB! But I don’t watch him, shout out to those who do tho!) getting his first ever win in MCC. I know it’s been a while, but I still miss the hype around the event and I just wanna rant on it.
As a Grian fan, MCC 17 is and most likely always will be my favourite MCC. I still remember all the hype and excitement around it when it first finished. Seeing all the videos surrounding the event, showing reactions to all the big moments or just all the post around it.
Grian having his first ever win and doing it with such a bang, getting 6 kills with 1 TNT, winning a 1v3, which was not only against Fruit and Illumina, but also where all the stakes were on the line, and getting overall 6th
Not to mention the rest of Orange.
Pete being the last survivor for HITW, getting top 1, 3 and 5 for Ace race, being first overall, and generally being a good support.
False being an amazing support within games indirectly and morally too and surviving with G in SG.
SB getting his first win, getting 7th overall, and just communicating well.
And don’t forget their team wide efforts. Them coming in first by 3k coins, excelling at almost every game, 3/4 of them getting top 10, with all of them getting top 20, dominating buildmart and also doing well with other games with their excellent communication, and all of them being amazing supports, be it within games or morally
Everything about this event puts a smile on my face. I miss all the hype and celebration around the event, and even rewatching still sends me a rush of excitement, and not to mention it’s been long since Grian regularly took part in any (cannon) MCCs. Even though Grian’s mcc high has long since passed, I’ll always enjoy remembering how MCC 17 ended.
