Rest well to the great Michael Rhodes - one of the greatest bass players of all time - a musician who made everyone on the bandstand better, a consummate pro and a wonderful human.

Michael and first recorded together for my 2011 ‘Let Me Introduce You’ album. He and Keith Carlock were the rhythm section and I had the time of my life working up tunes with them both. The first image is us performing at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival in 2013.

We last recorded together back in October with Nir Z, Pat Bergeson & Tim Lauer for my next solo album that I’ll be releasing later this year.

As a musician if you want to get better, you need to play with people who are better than you. That’s why everyone wanted to play with Michael, he would push you to be your best. It’s hard to believe he’s gone. Nashville won’t be the same. I’m grateful for the memories making music together.
