*How to fix "Entry Point Not Found" error in Windows 10*
Sometimes you get an error message when you want to install some software on your computer, like this "Entry Point Not Found" error. You can search on Google to know more about what is this error means and how does it happen (In short, it happens because some files are missing). In this post I will tell you 4 ways of how to fix this error:
- Run the System File Checker tool
- Open a Command Prompt (You can click Windows + R)
- At the command prompt, type sfc /scannow, and then press ENTER
- The sfc /scannow command will scan all protected system files, and replace corrupted files with a cached copy

- Restore your Windows to a previous restore point
- Open Create a restore point
- In the System Properties window, click System Restore
- Click Next
- To view more restore points, select Show more restore points. If you want to know what programs and drivers will be affected after the restoration, click to highlight a certain restore point and then click Scan for affected programs
- When you finally determine which restore point you’ll revert your system to, select it and click Next
- Click Next
- Finish (Wait for the System Restore process to be completed. Then start the problematic program and see if the error message pops up)
- Manually install the DLL file
If you know what DLL file of the program is missing or damaged, you can search for its name online. Like in this example:
"The procedure entry point SetThreadDescriptioncould not be located in the dynamic link library
C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Temp\Logi_installer_shared.dll"
Just look at the last word "Logi_installer_shared.dll. All you have to do is to search the file online or you can copy it from another computer then paste the file into that folder.
