I'm sorry for not being consistent lately, I've slowly been regaining a lot of motivation to continue working on this. As you can see I'm gonna have the lizard as the villain instead. I'll try my best to get this out as soon as I can! ๐ญ๐

After the major disappointment that Spider-Man Lotus was. This man came back to give the directors cut of it and gave us the BEST Spider-Man fan film ever!. This is what we SHOULD have gotten from the start. I've said it before but a film that takes inspiration from 2 comics that don't have much action involved doesn't need to be a whole 2 hour movie. This was cut down to a reasonable length and just gets straight to the point instead of sitting there for 20 minutes waiting for the main story kick off. Heck this is almost the same runtime I had in mind when I've talked about this with my friends so this is perfect.
This version feels more light hearted and less dark and depressing compared to the original. Something I like too is that he fixed the color grading and made everything look more vibrant and colorful and I love it! Another thing about this version is that this one shows Peter being more kind and gentle towards everyone including Tim. Which if you watch Lotus than you'd know how much of a dick he was to everyone as well as to Tim a bit, which was completely unnecessary if you ask me.
The pacing in this version is SOOO much better too and easy to get through and not having to deal with watching a bunch of scenes that lasts way longer than they need to, or just watching scenes that shouldn't have made the final cut cause they don't bring much value and are just there for the sake of adding more runtime to it. Everything just gets straight to the point and it flows very well and smoothly.
Now ofc, with this being cut down to add less runtime to it, it also means that 90% of the cast got completely cut. Like MJ, Harry and even Flash, and honestly I think it's for the best. Not to say they were terrible cause they weren't but most of their scenes felt off placed and could easily do without and this proves that.
Now for my final thoughts...The Kid Who Collects Spider-Man is now one of my favorite fan films to date. I can't tell you how many times I was smiling while watching this. Some tears were definitely shed. I felt like with this version you can actually connect with the characters very well. Even with a shorter runtime this film does so much better at diving into Spider-Man as a character and showcasing who he is and why he does what he does. But also shows that he himself is flawed, that even with all the amazing powers he has he's still just a regular guy just trying his best to do what's right. And that even Spider-Man needs help sometimes. This version did so much right and most definitely fixed all the problems that the original had while also adding in some additional scenes as well. I absolutely enjoyed this film so much! I hope to see y'all try your hand at another Spider-Man film at some point now you seem to know what you're doing now lol. (No offense tho๐
) Maybe one with a main villain this time around too!
