Strength training MUST be an important part of our weekly activities if we truly want to develop powerful Karate.
As we age, most people will lose up to 30% of muscle. Therefore, it behooves us to delay the decline as long as we can. Weight bearing exercise is imperative for our healthy longevity.
Training this past Sunday at Magic Island Park. There is nothing better than training outside. We're so fortunate in Hawaii that we can train outdoors all year long! Any martial artists visiting Honolulu are welcome to come train with us. Here, we have a good friend from Australia visiting on vacation. He's a Goju-Ryu practioner, but enjoys cross-training in Uechi-ryu. It was great to see you again, Nev!
Welcome to Honolulu Uechi-Ryu!
On this channel I share mostly martial arts videos and tutorials. With a particular emphasis on Uechi-Ryu Karate.
My name is Albert Cloutier and I teach Karate. Private and Semi-private lessons.
I've been practicing Karate since 1974. I hold Dan ranking in Uechi-ryu Karate and in Traditional Japanese Jujutsu. I also practice Iai-jutsu, and am a novice beginner practioner of Ngo Cho Kung-fu and Arnis.
I believe that the practice of martial arts can be beneficial for one's health, for mental self-discipline, and for self-defense.
I live in Hawaii with my beautiful wife, Jayne. We have 1 dog and 1 cat. I occasionally post videos of our travel adventures.
Contact me for information about training with me.
Long-distance students will be accepted on a case by case basis.
