KATHAK classes with Sudip Chakraborty at India Dans Theater!
Class days and timings:
Saturday and Sundays - 2.15 to 3.15 p.m.
Where: India Dans Theater, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, India
Sudip Chakraborty is an internationally acclaimed Kathak Dancer based in New Delhi, India. He is also a Theatre artist, Writer, Storyteller, and a TED speaker. Sudip underwent strict Bharatanatyam training in the Kalakshetra repertoire as a child in Kolkata and later pursued his Masters Degree in Kathak. He received his initial Kathak training under Shri Pranab Sanyal Ji and Shri Sandip Mallick in Kolkata for 17 years. Sudip then continued his training in Delhi under the guidance of renowned Guru Pt. Jai Kishan Maharaj Ji and also received training in Pakhawaj under Pt. Ravi Shankar Upadhayye Ji.
Sudip is active in Indian classical and contemporary dance theatre, touring Europe, England, and the US as a soloist and conducting workshops and inspiring lives.

THE MONSOON FESTIVAL 2024 & THE CHOREOGRAPHIC PROJECT 17!
"The Monsoon Festival 2024" is the newest Performance Practice Festival organized by India Dans Theater to showcase the creativity of artists, makers, & performers. It showcases the diversity of performing arts and encourages the culture of collaborative creation and the practice of Interdisciplinary Arts from all around the world.
The choreographic project is a performance-based practice module organized by India Dans Theater. It provides an initial platform for students to explore their capabilities as choreographers, dance performers, and practitioners. It's a unique encouragement program where selected students get involved and perform in a space within India Dans Theater premises in front of a live audience. The students and teachers are the ones who make dance and compose the work at the chrysalis stage of their creative practice/ career. The practice of choreographic projects has given confidence and a larger vision to students to explore and inspire.
