GRLZZZ punk from Belarus
AUDIOLITH presents the furious debut album of the Belarusian Grrrl punks MESSED UP.
MESSED UP are four young women from the town of Grodno near the Polish and Lithuanian borders. The quartet was founded in 2015 with the will to escape the lethargy of its post-Soviet homeland and to counter the social expectations and constraints of its own environment with self-empowerment and creativity. In the small and often affected by repression and incomprehension Belarusian subculture, at least a temporary breakout from everyday society is possible, which extends tours through other cities and neighboring countries better than Instagram and Vk.com. The women are quickly at home in a D.I.Y. scene, where bands, organizers and clubs know each other well and often have to act on the edge of illegality.
