The San Jose TaƱong Chorale of Marikina (SJTC) is a church choir based in San Jose Manggagawa Parish. The choir is under the tutelage of Jerry M. Olaguer ā a graduate of UP College of Music, who is also a composer, arranger, music professor and an active member of FILSCAP.
SJTC participated in competitions, concerts and other singing engagements apart from singing at its Sunday Masses in their parish. The group also launched their āMass for Unityā album and songbooks last year , consisting of 17 liturgical songs all written & composed by Jerry M. Olaguer.
Brought about by the current crisis, SJTC now has members not only from far reaches of Marikina, but also from the U.S. and U.K.; made possible thru virtual choir setup. Starting from a humble beginning in a small chapel, with a handful of members and a guitar, SJTC has proven that it can also ride with the times to continue spreading its music online.
