Hey everyone! We sure have been enjoying our Big Haul road trip! Unfortunately the past couple weeks we have not had good cell signals or good wifi, that’s why there’s a delay in new video uploads of our trip. We’ve been visiting some amazing places and have lots of great content to share. Just be patient with us and even though we’re on the downhill slope of our trip, once we get a chance we’ll start uploading more videos to share. You can also follow us on Instagram @abomadventures to see more current posts of our trip. We really do have some good stuff to share and we can’t wait to get it all uploaded! I may have figured out one or the reasons why the current video uploads are taking so long to upload, and taking up so much data while on the road. I have always tried to produce the best quality video I can using 2.7K or 1080k at 60fps. This January I started using iMovie to edit my videos which is a very simple and easy to use software. I don’t fuss around with Hollywood special effects and unnecessary one screen prompts or music. I like to make my job simple and easy to share what we have captured. I was playing around with the video quality settings in iMovie and realized that in the resolution settings, if I go from “Pro” resolution to “Best” resolution, the file sizes go from around 40 gig down to 2-3 gigs in size 😳 I made this change and the videos started uploading so much faster! This may be the ticket I was looking for and should make using my hot spot device much easier for on the go video uploads, or when using poor quality campground WiFi. I can also drop the video resolution from 1080 to 720 for an even smaller file size but I want to keep it at 1080 for now and see how it works out. I should have the next few videos ready to publish soon. 👍🏻

Well as most of our followers know we’re now on our Big Haul 2021! Unfortunately since our first stop I have not had good WiFi or cell signal available for good videos uploads. Even the 5G hotspot device I bought is not working good for me so I’m sorry for the lag in video uploads. Just know that any chance we get to upload them we will. Often times traveling through remote areas the coverage is slow, and many campgrounds don’t offer high data. This is definitely a problem I need to investigate further and see what other options are available for us. I think some people suggested Starlink. If you know of some high quality gear for sometime to invest in for video uploading while on the road, please let us know.
However, we did find a really great spot along the Spring River in Arkansas to camp at. It was beautiful! We also enjoyed visiting Mammoth Spring State Park. I have videos of both these places to share.

Hey everyone, so the audio on the new video is only coming out of the left channel. Why? Well as you can see in the picture, I just got the new Rode Wireless Go II and the first use of it was in the newest video upload. I realized afterwards that you can set the mics to Mono or Stereo. Now that I’m learning the new functions I will try and make sure the sound is set to stereo from now on, or if both mics are being used I can have a left and right channel. This new mic will allow both Abby and I to have a mic on us, or any other time where I might have a guest. I’ll have one more video that’ll have left channel only about half the video. Sorry about that, I know some of you are having problems with that. Just giving y’all a heads up.

I wanted to give y’all an update and let you know we have been having a great time in Colorado! We did get hit by the snow storm but have thoroughly been enjoying it. This was the first time I have been in a real winter storm with snow before 😂
I hope everyone has been enjoying the new vlogs and I’m trying to get them edited and uploaded as quickly as I can. WiFi has been spotty for us but I’m going to keep the Adventures coming 👍🏻
We love to travel and see new places in our beautiful country! Since purchasing our Kodiak travel trailer in 2019 we have been to so many great places! We enjoy capturing what we see and sharing it here on our channel. Here you can follow along as we travel to new and wonderful locations. We also enjoy sharing many of the campgrounds and rv parks we stay at along the way. In addition to the travel footage we enjoy sharing our Backyard BBQ, camp cooking, RV maintenance and repair, and basic RV How-To videos.
