When I was a kid, I loved exploring mountains, building forts from branches, and chasing minnows in the nearby riverbanks. Those simple adventures shaped who I am today. As I grew up, life led me away from my home province, filling my days with a busy mix of work, extracurricular activities and parent-teacher meetings.
Despite the chaos, I tried to bring my kids to peaceful parks, but as our family and commitments grew, those quiet green havens felt farther and fewer. In 2021, after two decades in the bustling city, we moved to a rural spot in southern Alberta. Here, on a big, slightly expensive, and outdated property, I strive to raise, nurture, and homeschool our eight children.
Our family includes biological, adopted, foster, and special needs kids. Each category brings a unique parenting role. We've chosen to teach our children about compassion through raising animals. The journey has just begun, and I'm excited to share our adventures beyond our table and over the fences.
