The general comments consensus on Dragon Sword #1 (the E&F Hƶrster) seems to be in line with what I thought, hooray! (More on that next week).
In the meantime, the Japanese(?) sword looks more unusual every time I clean another piece of it. I have never seen a katana like it (though admittedly I havenāt seen a lot of them), there are dragons on the hand guard in black and gold (is it gilt? Is it brass? Iām going to find out, I hope!)
Is it Chinese? Is it a weird reproduction? Is it three swords in one? Who knows!
Please enjoy these pictures of the partially cleaned sword, because itās even prettier when not covered in decades of dirt.
And if you think you know what it is, please say so, as I am even more perplexed than when I started. (Yes, I have made enquiries of some sword enthusiasts of my acquaintance, but they are busy people, so unable to provide immediate answers) š
