For all the hardcore Geosesarma keepers out there, you will find this research paper really interesting.
It's a detailed look at the natural diet and habitat of Geosesarma Hagen and Dennerle in Indonesia. If you are looking to do a really detailed biotope style set up this is a great resource!

The little baby Geosesarma Notophorum Vampire Crabs are going up pretty fast.
Here's one munching on the molt of an adult.

The top shot is day 30!
Everything has gone nuts!
The persicaria is 70cm tall and growing well above the lights and is dropping seeds everywhere.
I still can't bring myself to trim it though.

As things are starting to get pretty hot now make sure you have a plan in place for your vampire crab tanks if they are going to get above 30°C | 86°F for extended periods of time. While they are fine with a few hours in the low 30°C | 86°F ranges, extended periods will kill them.

Cheap little USB fans like this from Amazon or AliExpress work well for pushing cooler air into your tank or pulling hot air out.

And don't forget! You can also run your lights at night instead to save adding heat to your tank as well.

This might not seem like much, but this is quite an impressive capture. These are captive-bred baby Geosesarma Notophorum clinging to their mother's back. Some of them are a lot more developed than others, which is really interesting to see.

Unlike most other Geosesarma Vampire Crab species, Geosesarma Notophorum don't carry their babies on their underside.

I've got a fair bit of 2x macro footage to go through yet, but it's even crazier to see them moving around and twitching.

Remember the Jager tank?
Well here's what it looks like now. Completely different.
I had planned to let it run until it was overgrown.....
But I had a little emergency!

I found one of my female Geosesarma Notophorum Vampire Crabs missing a claw and a few legs so I had to act fast to give her a really suitable hospital tank. So I swapped out the bottle with a couple of bits of cork bark and some extra plants. Thankfully she was able to molt and has grown back her claw and most of her missing legs.

But I'm going to leave her in here for a little while longer to see if she is carrying eggs.
When she's all good and healthy, she'll be going back into the big tank!

It's always handy to have a spare tank around just in case something random happens!

A little update on the 10L carnivorous plant bog I made back in January. A few of you were asking how it was going.
Sadly YouTube insists on a stupid square format image for community posts.... But if you want a better look with a full update I wrote up a little blog post about it that covers the progress in a bit more detail.

This lovely lady is carrying a nice little batch of eggs which will hopefully end up being a successful captive breeding project for Geosesarma Notophorum. There are quite a few females in this tank so I hope it's a similar case for the rest of them as well.

YouTube is pretty useless with pictures but when I get a bit of time I'll get some footage up. I managed to catch quite a good look at things today.

I've got a proper update video coming for the big vertical Exo-Terra Geosesarma Notophorum tank which will be quite interesting because I've made a few big changes to the previous design based on watching them interact with their environment.
