As requested by some of you, I've put the AI reading list (the one that's purportedly given, yet not confirmed, by Ilya Sutskever) in a GitHub repository. I've organized the items by topic, doing my best to provide an order in which you should read them. Additionally, I've included some courses that you should take before diving into this list if you are not familiar with machine learning.

You can find the GitHub repo here: github.com/datamlistic/AI-Reading-List

Feel free to create PRs with the modifications you consider necessary. I will try my best to review them ASAP. Happy learning!

Regarding the AI reading list series I created, some of you pointed out that Ilya never confirmed this list. I did some research this weekend, and I have to agree that there's no official thread where he validates the list.

The best thread I could find is this tweet from John Carmack (x.com/ID_AA_Carmack/status/1622673143469858816) that was circulating when this list was getting hyped. In the tweet, he confirms the existence of a list (though not this specific one) and asks Ilya to validate it, but Ilya never responded. The good part though is that John Carmack never said this isn't the list, but unfortunately, this doesn't confirm it either. As we say in statistics, "Failing to reject the null hypothesis does not necessarily mean that we accept it as true."

Thus, I would like to apologize to those of you whom I misinformed by saying this is the official list. I was under the impression that it was officially confirmed. I'm very sorry for that! I promise I will do a better job researching the topics I present.

P.S. If you know of any thread where Ilya does confirm the list, please leave it in the comments. It would be greatly appreciated.

Happy new year, everyone! I have an important announcement to make. Staring today, I'm renaming this channel to DataMListic since, from now on, I will focus more on making explanatory videos in the area of machine learning instead of trying to answer the "why" questions in this field.

Why? Simply put, I enjoy much more creating such videos, and also because this type of content has gained more traction since I created this channel. :)

As a side note, I will continue posting videos where I explain "why" things happen in machine learning, but at a lower peace than before.

Hopefully, you will still enjoy the type of content I will continue to create! :)

I am slowly running out of ideas for new videos. Would you mind sharing with me on which ML subjects are you interested in and that you would like to see on this channel?

Human brain has in average 100 billion neurons and each neuron has around 10.000 synapses, resulting in 1.000 trillion synapses.

GPT4 is expected to have 100 trillion parameters (synapses). That's one level of magnitude below the human brain, wow....

Check out my new YouTube video "AdamW Optimizer Explained" for an in-depth look at this powerful optimization algorithm. I delve into the math behind AdamW and Adam, emphasising the main difference between them.
