Here are some images of Ron Hansen's old Kreg jig. In the review I did of one of their newer jigs: https://youtu.be/oKdEf6746_0 I mentioned that I bought a metal Kreg jig from Kreg himself at a woodworking show way back in either the late 80's or the early 90's. My metal jig was a single hole model — nearly identical to the plastic single hole model I bought to replace the metal one when it was stolen. Ron shared some images of his early 90's two hole jig — and he still has the original box! What a blast from the past! I am still looking for images of the one hole jig from way back then. If you have one, I would greatly appreciate it 😊

Its been ten months since I posted a video on Trap Door, and I explain why in the video, but I'm back at the task and have the shop all cleaned-up and ready to install the plywood walls — which will allow me to hook-up the final electricals and have power out there besides extension cord run all over the place! Make sure to subscribe and stay tuned as I will be showing the work in the coming videos as opposed to just weekly updates. This should be very interesting 😊

This video shows the last part of our massive concrete block retaining wall being completed. We built this wall to get another 12' of width for our new woodshop. If you never seen retaining walls made of these blocks, check this video out!

Having a sink (and a urinal too 😊) in your woodshop is something many woodworkers overlook, but let me tell you they come in very handy! This video shows me running a three zone freeze-proof water system that supplies outdoor faucets in the summer, and water to the shop year-round — except if I want to shut the shop down completely for an extended time in the winter. In that case, I can drain the entire system with the turn of a couple valves!

Definitely not woodworking related, but it was part of the process I went through to heat my shop. If you are going to heat your shop — especially if the heater is far from the gas entry — it would behoove you to look into Pro-Flex gas lines.

This is from a few months ago when I directed out dirt guy in making a large extension to the concrete block retaining wall. All of these boulders came out of the small area that was dug-out to create the last section of the block wall. Not woodworking related, but cool nonetheless 😊

Here is a video from just before I started installing the metal ceiling. I figure out how to box-out around the garage door hardware which unfortunately was above the plane of the metal ceiling. It worked very well 😊

This video shows a little test I did for hanging my shop lights with magnets. It did not work on this particular magnet/light, but I will be using magnets on the actual lights when installed. When it comes to hanging the next temporary light, I will be using a sacrificial metal slug above the tin to hang it successfully until the ceiling is complete and I can start hanging the permanent (so-to-speak) lights 😊

Trap Door Woodworks specializes in making furniture and built-in cabinetry with hidden compartments and secret features. I also create 'normal' looking furniture that hides secret passages, and some day, possibly an actual trap door 😊 I also build furniture and cabinetry with unusual features and things out of wood that you normally don't see made of wood — like a vanity sink I made years ago made entirely of wood!
