The Vertigo Annual was released in 1970, by at the time, fairly new music label Vertigo Records.
Vertigo’s first compilation album was put together not exactly to promote the artists, but more to promote the label itself.
Record contains sixteen tracks collected from previously released records by label’s most popular artists, such as Black Sabbath, Rod Stewart, Colosseum, Uriah Heep and many others.
FUN FACT:
This is the label’s slogan which is printed on the inside of a vinyl album issue:
"Vertigo is the least pretentiously and most happily married of the 'progressive' labels to emerge from 'neath the wings of the large record companies."
