Hi Guys!

Thank you so much for subscribing to my channel, I love interacting with all of you struggling with Cushing's disease. For the last few months, I have been preparing to share my testimony as I promised in my last video, but God has other plans for me.

I originally started this channel to one, help others dealing with Cushing's disease, but more importantly, to share my testimony about how God has done an amazing work in my life and saved me through his son Jesus Christ. But I have noticed that sin is beginning to distort this good desire.

I recognize this sin and I've seen how it's been moving, unchecked, over the past couple of months. And I'd love to be honest because there is something very redemptive about being honest with our sin and there's definitely a level of accountability when you speak it on the internet.

Social media and this channel are driving a wedge between me and my relationship with God. Instead of being concerned with spreading the gospel, thinking about how I can help other people, and growing the kingdom of God. I have been concerned with money, influence, and the opinions of others. And scrolling and just being on social media has been a huge time waster and it is extremely addictive for me.

Last Sunday and throughout this past week God has clearly told me to surrender this desire back to him and be completely off of social media for a year. Here are the verses that through various sermons and people, he has spoken to me.

Mark 9. 43-48
"If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell. And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched."

Matthew 16:24-26
"Then Jesus told his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul."

Galatians 2:20
"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

There is a loss that comes with this choice I am making, and at first, it was hard to accept. But as the week has gone on I am excited to embrace what God has for me. God writes amazing stories, we write boring ones.

I'm going to receive what he has for me even though it might be scary, it might be something I might not have chosen for myself, and it might be costly. But the reason I can say I want to do this with confidence is because my God has been so good to me - he has been good to me in this life and faithful in this life but more importantly he's been faithful in the next one. He's given up way more for me than I ever will for him. He died for me. He died for my sins and my imperfections so that I might one day spend eternity with him.

God might be giving me a not yet or he may be giving me a no - I suppose we will see in a year. I'll be sure to update you either way.

Christ died for me when I was an enemy of his, the least I can do is put a dream on a shelf as an act of obedience.

If anyone is looking for me I'm going to go lose my life and go find it in him - see you later

In Christ and with love,
Alli
