I got access to the Halo Infinite Test Flight, but the game just insta-crashes on startup for me. I've gone through all the troubleshooting threads for an hour, reinstalled the game, restarted my computer, and did a bunch of other stuff and the game just doesn't work.
I'm glad this is being caught in the Beta, but it seems like a lot of other people are having this issue and that's just kind of disappointing to me.
I really want 343 to do well with Halo and bring it back, but stuff like this just strengthens my cynicism. It is incredibly sad to have a company this historically incompetent at the helm of a game you love so much. I have been rooting for 343 for 7 years now, and things just never seem to fall into place.

While the vast majority of the blocked montages on my channel are only blocked in Denmark (it looks like music copyright laws are very harsh there?), this video is actually only blocked in the United States. This is not that far from a worldwide ban for this channel given that ~65% of my traffic comes from the US. Anyways, hereās my extended thoughts on the montage:
Gameplay
-----------------
The gameplay is, well, fun. What makes this video stand out is the sheer amount of āWTFā clips. From the strange rockets to the inexplicable lag kills, thereās a lot of moments that will leave you confused. Thereās also some great live moments 3 and a half minutes in as you get to see where random Xbox Live kids think Argentina is (the 360 mic days were the best days).
Editing
-----------------
The editing is pretty light but is clean and well done overall. Besides the intro and some setups to frame/explain clips, there really isnāt much of it at all. Thereās the occasional syncing here and there, but for the most part, the editing is just letting the gameplay speak for itself. This works out as the gameplay is pretty unique and entertaining.
Anyways, this funtage is pretty entertaining, even after 10 years. I can see why it is one of the most viewed funtages on my channel with 70,000+ views and I hope you guys enjoy it too.

Underrated + rescued: VIBE - A Halo 3 Montage by LuckyDutch and Sachiro
The saved montage: vimeo.com/457557059
tldr; This montage has unique gameplay, smooth editing, and a great soundtrack, so you should watch it, especially as it got less than 6,000 views on my channel before it got blocked.
This montage is a part of "Operation Halo Montage Rescue". To find out more about this, check out my post: youtube.com/post/UgxoCL4a4kBaiNfdNLd4AaABCQ
Gameplay: LuckyDutch - youtube.com/user/iLuckyDutch/
Editing: Sachiro
Date of original release: 11/4/2012
Anyways, here's my fuller thoughts on this montage as usual:
Gameplay
----------------
The gameplay has the usual social multikills, but what sets it apart is the substantial amount of vehicle clips in it. You don't see very many vehicle clips in Halo montages (probably because they have more of a "casual" vibe), so it's definitely a nice change of pace seeing them from this montage from its killimanjaro splatter on Longshore to the "YOLO" splatters where you have a vehicle, some explosives, and just send it on its way across the sky. There's also some nice in-game player audio moments here and there, which I'm sure you all know by now how much I enjoy that.
Editing
----------------
The editing has the usual staples with syncing and good flow overall, but what sets it apart is the cinematography. The angles in this montage are so smooth and professional, setting up some nice transitions and clear insight into what happened with some of the more unique clips in this montage. My main complaint is that the editing is hard on the eyes sometimes (epileptic and overly bright), but Sachiro definitely did a great job editing this overall.
Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the montage!

We Just Did Something Amazing
The saved montage: vimeo.com/454603310
Yesterday, I asked you guys if any of you had the original video file for a relatively unknown Halo 3 montage released in 2009: youtube.com/post/Ugwg79oIRhGTgHspZx94AaABCQ. I remember enjoying it back when it was alive on my channel, so I really wanted to save it as part of "Operation Halo Montage Rescue". This was a Hail Mary as a montage with less than 25k views isn't on the higher end for my channel and it came out forever ago.
Much to my surprise, one of you guys actually had the montage. Morpheus414 (www.youtube.com/channel/UChcq... ) saw my post and uploaded it to the cloud earlier today. I then downloaded it and put it on Vimeo for all of you to enjoy as you can see from the link at the top of this post.
I don't know about you guys, but when I zoom out and look at this, this is simply amazing. I'm just a random guy on the internet who wanted to upload a relatively unknown video that another random guy on the internet made for a game released 13 years ago. This video is now almost 11 years old, and another random person on the internet happened to see my longshot post and uploaded this video so all of us could go on a nostalgia trip. The Halo community has been through some rough times over the past 10 years, but there's definitely special about it if we can still make things like this happen. Thank you all for your support and a special thank you for Morpheus414 for sharing this montage that YouTube effectively made extinct with its annoying copyright policy.
And now on to the montage.
The saved montage is "Here Comes The Sun" with gameplay and editing by LiL PAYN3. It's LiL PAYN3's final Halo 3 montage, and I uploaded it on 11/25/2009. It went on to get ~23,000 views and has since been destroyed by YouTube's copyright system with its audio being stripped out. While it's no Apex or Dualtality, this is by all means an enjoyable montage. The gameplay is pretty solid (1 thing that stood out to me in particular was the sheer amount of overkill snipe headshot exterminations) and actually has a good amount of nice MLG clips despite the intro saying that the montage doesn't have a ton of MLG. The editing is pretty light and works well for the montage, and the montage stands out by being one of the very few Halo montages to use The Beatles. The montage has a sense of humor as well with some funny shorts here and there alongside various bloopers scattered across the gameplay. I hope you guys enjoy it too, and I bet a lot of you haven't seen it before as it didn't get a ton of views on this channel.
As usual, hope you're all safe and healthy out there.

I Need Your Help Saving A Halo 3 Montage
UPDATE: Thanks to @Morpheus414 for being a hero and sharing the original montage with us! I have the original video file now, and I'll upload/make a post about this soon. Thank you so much Halo community - This is simply incredible.
This is a longshot, but I'm calling on all you Halo 3 old-schoolers out there to see if you guys can help me out. Anyways, there's a montage on my channel that is blocked in all countries, and I'm wondering if any of you guys have the original file for it. Here's the info:
Name: Here Comes The Sun
Gameplay/editing: LiL PAYN3
Original release date: 11/25/2009
I remember it being pretty chill, clean, and an all around enjoyable video that was entered into H3F's 2nd Halo 3 movie competition. I would like to save it by uploading it to Vimeo. I've spent a good amount of time on this, and I just can't produce the original video. YouTube was especially nasty with this video as it's not only blocked in all countries, YouTube ripped out the original audio as well. When I download the video from my YouTube Studio, it just gives me a muted video file. I searched across YouTube, and I can't find a surviving upload either.
Anyways, if any of you guys can help me out, please comment on this post! Thanks.

Underrated: āŖ@SnikenCSā¬'s Halo 3: Halo: Reach Montage 3
tldr; This video is incredibly fun and creative but only has a little over 10k views. This is one of those montages that appeals to all Halo players, so definitely watch it if you haven't already: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pggEZ...
You can subscribe to āŖ@SnikenCS⬠with this link: youtube.com/user/PianoFrenzyHD?sub_confirmation=1. It seems like a good time as it looks like he's uploading Halo content again.
And of course, for those of you who like to read, here's my longer review of this montage:
Gameplay
----------------
As you guessed, I wouldn't be recommending you this video if it didn't have great gameplay. The gameplay in this montage is stellar, because it's all incredibly unique. Montages definitely became more serious after Halo 3 came around, so this montage is a breath of fresh air with its focus on innovative tricks vs. the usual sniper multi-kills. From the ricochet snipes to the unique jumps to the creative Halo: Reach loadout usage, the montage has a lot of fun clips where Piano Frenzy is simply outsmarting the other players. The live reaction clip to start off the montage is also simply fantastic.
Editing
----------------
The editing is incredibly light, but it's enough as the montage is very much about the gameplay. The editing is mainly angles to help you understand the clips alongside the funny "news segment" bit in the middle - The video really is just fun gameplay with fun music. Given the kind of vibe the video is going for, the editing does just fine.
Afterword
----------------
This is one of those montages that is enjoyable to those who don't really like montages that much. The vast majority of montages are just multikills, and that can all blend together after a while and become boring. It's also hard to relate to players like Kampy and Dutchy - They're simply out of this world. But the gameplay in this video actually is achievable for the average player; you just need to think a little more while you're playing and take the navigation path that isn't the most straightforward. Anyways, this is just a really enjoyable video no matter what kind of Halo player you are, and I hope you guys like it (and are maybe even a little inspired).
As always, I hope you're all safe and healthy out there.

Let's Play Some Halo!
I'm Gear61 on Steam, friend code: 36305050. Gamertag: GearSixtyOne
Hey everyone, I have MCC on PC now and would love to play some Halo with you guys! I'm down to play Halo 1, Halo 2, and Halo 3, but I'm mainly looking to play Halo 2 customs. In terms of which customs, I'm a fan of 4v4 MLG gametypes alongside the "montage kid" ones like FFA BR/Snipes on Lockdown and MLG FFA on Midship. Looking forward to meeting some of you! And of course, some additional notes:
1. I am not good at this game. Not playing seriously for 10 years will do that to you apparently.
2. No, I am not the MLG pro Walshy.
3. No, I do not make all the videos on this channel.
2.7K - 105
Underrated: Lynx's Final Halo 3 Montage
tldr; This montage has some of the sickest no scopes I've ever seen. This montage should have at least 25,000 views but doesn't even have 10,000 yet. Definitely watch it if you haven't already. Link here to make things faster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CN_f3...
And for those of you who do like the read, here's the full review, split up into the usual gameplay, editing, and afterword sections:
Gameplay
----------------
In the end, you need good gameplay to make a good montage montage, and this video absolutely nails that. There's a couple sticks here and there, but the gameplay is primarily sniper driven with a ton of amazing no scopes as you might have guessed from the video title. This montage regularly pulls off amazing no scopes for the overkill and killtacular, and there's this really slick theme where a lot of them are unexpected and just come out of nowhere. The whip overkill no scope on Last Resort is simply amazing despite being a body shot, and the overkill no scope headshot on Narrows to close out the montage is a fantastic finale clip. A lot of the social montages are more "duck hunt-ey" where the player is just on some really high-up place doing target practice, so this montage definitely stands out by not really having those types of clips.
Editing
----------------
The editing does what it needs to do: Make the video flow and not get in the way of the gameplay. Syncing is clearly the priority of this montage, and the effects are all subtle and serve a clear purpose. The best kills in the montage are accompanied by a corresponding high note in the music to make them memorable, and I appreciate how both the music and the editing were relaxed to just let the gameplay stand out. I just don't have a single problem with this editing; there's nothing too heavy-handed and it's another great example of doing more with less, no crazy 3D or color correction needed.
Afterword
----------------
Even after I quit YouTube, I had this montage in the back of my mind. So when I came back, I knew I needed to get it more views. One thing I didn't mention in the 2 sections above is that this montage simply does not waste your time. It sits at a very compact 3:25, so you are not committing much time towards watching it. Almost every clip packs a real punch, and the entire montage is of very high quality from start to finish. At only ~9,600 views at the time of writing this post, I would bet that a lot of you haven't seen this montage yet, so if you're one of those people, definitely give it a watch.
As always, hope you're all safe and healthy out there.
