Today, I'm working on a piece dedicated to the Youthforia foundation fiasco. Since this is news that's happening right now, I would love to get this video to you today instead of tomorrow! It's similar to the Tarte Shape tape issue, but possibly worse, if you can believe it. I think the Youthforia situation has a lot of nuance that people aren't talking about that I really want to bring light to.

12 years ago today, I hit the "create channel" button on YouTube.
I was a stay at home mom on maternity leave, spending most of my days with my new baby and nothing to do that was just for me. I was starting to get into makeup and didn't really know how to apply it beyond what I had learned from my mom and on YouTube. I was intimidated by the makeup aisle at my drug store and I had never been into a Sephora or MAC store. But I KNEW there were people like me out there that were still learning and needed help. I figured we could learn together.
I started this channel with one major purpose: to help people see how makeup products performed so they could make better choices before buying. And I'm proud to say, 12 years later, I'm still doing my best to follow through on that mission.
My baby will turn 13 in July, and my pre-schooler just turned 16 two weeks ago. I've learned SO much about makeup and skincare (and the industry itself) through research and listening to professionals. I've learned about application through A LOT of trial and error, my "coworkers" here on YouTube, and of course YOU. I learned how to put on false lashes on a livestream!
Most of all, I'm just thankful that I get to do this for a job. That I get to dedicate my time to doing what I love and I wouldn't have that if you didn't tune in. If you didn't click my videos and give them a chance. Some of you have been with me damn near 12 years and some of you are brand new, but I appreciate ALL of you for any time you've spent with me. Cheers, my friends! I'm looking forward to the next 12 years!
