most of you probably know me through my covers. I posted my first video on youtube in april this year and the way you guys have responded to it has been incredible.
Iâve been working on my original music behind the scenes and staying pretty low key about it. I had a few songs that I was close to releasing but they didnât feel right. I feel like Iâve evolved a lot these past few years, figuring out who I am - not just as an artist, but as a human. Iâm just someone in her 20s, still learning about herself, just like everyone else. I think my new music reflects this journey that Iâve been on. it feels really authentic to me and I truly canât wait to share it with you.
I wrote âshadow of youâ a little under a year ago in LA. I wanted to capture the feeling of âspiralingâ in thought and the ambiguous, messy, non-linear process of moving on from a past relationship. the song to me feels like an inner monologue, like a train of thought. some songs take a while to finish creating, but this wasnât one of them; that day in the studio it felt like âshadow of youâ just flowed out of me. we had the song within the first hour.
I hope you love it as much as I do. âshadow of youâ will be yours on november 15th.
