I've spent nearly 10 years on YouTube. I've made thousands of vlogs. I've portrayed motherhood to be an ever curated fairytale. I've shared hardships and I've shared victories. I've learned through analytics and engagement and metrics that YouTube wants quick, pretty, easy motherhood. Youtube doesn't want what motherhood is...it's slow, it's messy, and it's often times hard.

I stopped vlogging for many reasons but one of them was because I wanted to get off the hamster wheel of vlogging. I no longer care about metrics. I no longer care about camera angles and thumbnails and what song shares the emotions of the moment.

This video is what my motherhood is like. It's what most of my days look like. It's picking up my living room 3 to 4 times in one day. It's finding crusted cookie stuck to the table. It's kneeling in something wet and not even bothering to change your sweatpants. My motherhood looks just like yours. Yours isn't broken because it's being compared to something fake. We had TV then reality tv then YouTube vlogging but vlogging is so curated now a days, it's no longer real. So what is? That's what I've been thinking about over the last year or so. How can one really connect again with others.

I don't know. All I do know is that I just can't contribute to the circus anymore. So here it is...here's what my motherhood looks like. In all it's beautiful, messy, glory and I wouldn't have it any other way.
