Here's another one of my favorite grooves that is broken down in the upcoming instructional book. It's a unique twist on the traditional songo rhythm. watch video on watch page

Well, I've been mainly radio silent on social media and it's only one year late (better late than never!), but my instructional book is finally coming out in June! It breaks down the first hundred grooves in the Wake 'N Break series, so look out for the official release soon! In the meantime, dig this "dubbed out" steppers groove with "delayed" cross stick notes and a shuffle on the hi-hats. It will be included in the book. watch video on watch page

Join me for my "A Charlie Brown Spliffmas" virtual hang Christmas night at 9pm EST! I'll be listening to cuts from the original Vince Guaraldi soundtrack and then listening to my own interpretations from my "A Very Kind Beats Christmas" charity album. I'll be discussing my inspiration for recording the album, the creative process, random stories from recording/performances of the material, offering some giveaways, possibly breaking some drum parts down, and just straight up kickin' it with whoever would like to join. We can talk about whatever, so roll a spliff, take some dabs, pour some Landy in your eggnog, or pop a bottle of bubbly. The live stream will be both here on youtube and on facebook, so be sure to join me for some fun holiday debauchery!

It truly feels like 2020 has been an endless pit of frustration and despair. No matter what I do or how motivated I am, new problems seem to present themselves and push me back. After posting my most recent video, I damaged my ankle and was stuck wearing a boot and now my mother is in the hospital (please keep her in your prayers). Rather than have a nervous breakdown trying to juggle my family matters, videos, and prepping for the holidays, I've decided to try and ride things out a bit and hold up on posting new vids until around Christmas or New Years. I hope you all understand. I love making videos but right now, I need to work on keeping my life together. Family comes first.

After tackling a myriad of tech problems (and taking care of my new beagle pup, Bonham), episode two in the "Painting With Percussion" series is finally up! In it, I interpret Rico Tomaso's 1969 oil painting, "Bullfighter III". Check it out! watch video on watch page

After battling it out with technology for the better part of three weeks, I finally seem to be getting the upper hand and have already resumed recording new videos. Thanks for hanging in there folks. I promise it will be worth the wait!

I absolutely loathe missing deadlines that I set for myself but due to Murphy's Law being in full effect, I won't be posting any vids this week. I just copped a new computer and am grabbing a new camera, so I'm going to take a week to quell the electronic chaos and get things in order. Things should be back to normal next week. Did I ever mention how much I love electronics? watch video on watch page
