The Laboratory for Digital Product Development and Manufacturing (LDPF) is a laboratory in the department of engineering and technology at Trier University of Applied Sciences and focuses on teaching, research and development in the use of modern IT tools throughout the product life cycle. Here, prospective engineers learn the practice-oriented use of high-end software and innovative technologies such as Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) or Virtual Reality.
The core competencies of the laboratory range from Computer Aided Design up to Digital Factory, Process Optimization and Method Development, Knowledge Based Engineering and Additive manufacturing (3D Printing). Another focus area is Virtual and Augmented Reality in industrial applications.
In research and teaching, we face tasks from numerous cooperation partners.
