If you judge a company based on the financial fundamentals… you will love $EOG! if you are a dividend investor you will love them even more because they have a rule. They will return 60% of all free cash flow they make to the shareholder either through Special Dividends or Stock Buybacks! I made them part of my ‘Buy and Never Sell’ portfolio as you can see I do updates all the time on that portfolio! :)

They just reported earnings so let me give you my highlights! They made +1.79Billion in Net income, their organic 2.81% dividend yield cost them -525million per quarter (25.36% payout ratio TTM) they bought back +759million worth of their own stock or just over 1.2% of all the shares outstanding just in this quarter! And they still have 5.29Billion in cash! With 3.76Billion in long term debt!

But notice this is pure financial analysis, not talking abt the industry they are in , there is always risk. But let me know ur thoughts :)

My Dividend Stock Portfolio is rather unique, I invest in stocks with low dividend yields & low payout ratios! Stock price appreciation & dividend growth is the focus, not starting yields. My yield on cost should grow faster than the market! I think it’s an appropriate approach for a young investor who doesn’t need income right now:) let me know ur thoughts!
