New Year, New Videos, and New Name!
In an effort to deliver better videos and a better experience, I'm moving away from the "Apple Crossing" branding and icons in favor of a more personal look. For the last few years, Apple Crossing as worked as this has historically been a channel featuring a lot of Animal Crossing, and it just so happens I like Apples from the game. More recently however, Animal Crossing has begun to be less central to this channel and the name makes less and less sense. This has led to discussions this past month on a new look, new name, and new plan going forward in 2024.
What's new?
Starting this week, branding will slowly change from "Apple Crossing" to "Bertbound". This new name is easier to read, easier to see, and can easily be shortened to a single name, Bert (hi!). The first change is already out - the username to this channel is now @Bertbound! In the coming days images and branding will switch to a new icon representing this new persona along with a cool little mascot guy.
2024 will also bring in a new Animal Crossing: New Horizons playthrough (goodbye Crossing!) to bring a fresh playthrough in 2024. This will also be livestreamed and starts on January 1. Since this will be a livestream, you can watch progress in real-time versus a heavily cut down video that went out weekly in the previous series. Feedback and suggestions as this series go on is very much welcome.
What's changing?
Not much to start besides the look of the channel. As we get further into 2024 however, expect new videos with new games to go out. Animal Crossing is not going anywhere since it is very tied into this channel, but newer and different games will start making an appearance.
Approach to recording footage and community interaction is also changing. More livestreams will be occurring starting in January along with better community interaction. The Twitch channel is also making a comeback, as livestreams will be broadcast on both platforms as well.
A test with older videos is also being made. Thumbnails for some videos will be updated to better represent what's going on versus a low quality or lack of custom image.

Along with publishing non-commentary and chill gaming videos and shorts, I stream on YouTube, Twitch, and am even trying out that Kick platform no one seems to be talking about. These streams are me playing a game and chilling along with anyone who wants to watch.
